From what both Pedulla and Sky report our top target is Correa who has rejected Everton and only wants Inter. If Lotito drops his demands to 30m, Inter will get Correa. Else, they will close the deal for Thuram.

Personally i prefer Thuram over Correa.

Sarri on Correa: “Correa's role, at the moment, is to be evaluated. We are talking about a strong player, but he expressed his idea in unsuspecting times. The situation is in the making, this does not put him in the ideal mental conditions to play.”

Fuck, I thought we were done with that guy and we were getting Thuram...at least I'm glad Marotta and Ausilio have more patience that I do.

I just hope management considers "fit" in terms of Inzaghi's style of football, which as obvious as it sounds, is often overlooked (see Barcelona). With Correa that shouldn't be an issue. My point is now is not the time to take risks or experiment, especially given our history.

What does this mean?

So looks like it's down to Correa and Thuram as the only options now. I have to say these are the most preferred ones, now that Vlahovic and Zapata are out of consideration.

The common bit between these two is that both can dribble and take on defenders, something that we lack otherwise. Correa knows the league, and is a proven (good but not great) player. Thuram brings the physicality as well, but is more of a wild card in terms of adaptation to the league. The risk is definitely higher with Thuram but I think there is a chance of him having a higher ceiling than Correa. And at 25m, the risk is worth it.

Correa is basically out of Lazio project. He has asked to leave since the start of the summer while he also is a bad fit for Sarri's system. Obviously if Correa stays, Sarri will try to find him a position in his system (probably as an Immobile backup as i can't imagine Correa as a winger) but the situation is far from ideal. Lazio also need the funds from Correa sale to get Kostic and a midfielder from Bordeaux who are Sarri requests.

Why would Lotito do any favors for Inzaghi? He wants near 40M for Correa. Thuram way cheaper, and more versatile. Can play on the wing too, if Perisic-DiMarco are out.

Don't have one.

It's more like doing favors to his own team at this point, given that we actually have options, whatever they may be, and they don't. I mean, they do, he can stay, but that means they will play with an unhappy dude out of position without being able to further improve the team and bring other reinforcements.

Insigne and Thuram should be okay enough for the attack. Lots of different players in attack

For some reason I thought "Sarri" was a journalist  my bad, that makes sense now. I can see Kostic clicking in Sarri's 433, Brandt too (also linked, they can have him). I think Correa would make a fine left winger, isn't that where he played at Sevilla? He has the trickery to excel in wide areas.

Talking about Vlahovic is basically like talking about Lewandowski. Or even Messi. We can't afford him. He's out of budget. So we need to basically just forgot that option, because he is not an option.

Sorry, I have to call bullshit on that. Its not true. Our club management (including Marotta) clearly stated that Inter needed to make 80m in this mercato. Not more not less. Thats is all we needed to make. Currently our sales are 197m and our spend is 31m. So we have made 166m so far. Which means we have 86m left to spend this summer.

So we can afford to buy a player like Vlahovic, if we want. Whether we should spend that money on Vlahovic or not is another argument, but clearly we can afford it now well within our budget.

Of course he is. Our management prefers going for the safe, but underwhelming, choice from Serie A instead of taking a risk with a player from another league.

I think it’s more Inzaghi. He knows Correa and wants one of his guys. It’s no different the Conte or Spalletti before him.

Owner gives management the money they can use. It's pretty clear owners have said management cannot use all that money. Thus we can't afford Vlahovic.

I doubt Marotta makes the call that he first sell for almost 200m€ and then uses 50m€ of that.

This Cody Gakpo looks interesting. A sort of bargain bin CR7.
