Bbilan had control of the game roughly 85th min -> 91st min the rest of the game was all Inter, all us. This really does feel like a loss tonight, had to give myself a few hours before coming to post, post-game. If they think they deserved anything from this game they are deluded.

Concerns being Dzeko/Barella possible injuries, especially Barella hamstring can be a few weeks (really hope he is no where near international break, so could be good timing, for recovery). We really need to address our penalty taker situation, Hakan's penalty wasn't exactly reassuring and Toro I swear I've never seen him score a penalty for us, one thing we can all agree we miss Kaku for. For some reason I thought Perisic was our taker, don't ask why.

Time to move forward and move on, can't change the result now, take the positives from tonight, we dominated a team that a lot of people on these forums and discord etc say are going to win the scudetto this year (or have hinted towards) even though we all know they are going to bottle it deep down its still great to see we showed them we are the better team despite the scoreline.

What a fucking shit of a game.

The good news is that we proved again, that we can play at a high level against """top""" opponents.

The bad news is pretty much everything else.

We can not sustain that performance for a full 90 minutes. Had that game gone on much longer, it's likely Milan would've scored because we were done from the 80th minute onward.

For the the 4th consecutive time, we have taken the lead against a top 6 side, only to let them equalize and drop points. We have accumulated a pathetic 3 points out of 12 in the so-called "6-pointers" against big clubs. Zero wins, 3 draws, and a loss. That is a horrendous indictment on Inzaghi and the players.

One can microanalyse, and for sure, beyond question, we deserved to win this game as well as that against Real Madrid and arguably even juve. But at the end of the day, if you don't put the result beyond question, you don't reap the rewards. The champion, killer mentality of last season left this club with the coach it seems.

Echoing a few people’s sentiments here. The one thing I’m worried about the most is the mentality, it is clear as day it seems like Conte was the one that gave the players that mentality and now it’s gone. We are too nice right now, these are games we have to be winning.

It’s pretty clear that this team is lacking a protagonist. This whole team gives off big supporting actor energy, we’re like a great band with no lead singer. Our movie is lacking a main character. Say what you want about Lukaku but he was that guy for us.

This is unfortunately what happens when you sell your only natural goal scorer. Remember how the complaint about Lukaku was that he didn’t score enough “decisive” goals. Well how many of those non-decisive goals could we have used this year when we were up 1-0? We can’t kill games.

That’s obviously not on Inzaghi, however he’s not free from criticism either. We did have our chance to win this game. However when we were in the ascendency we needed to put our foot on their throat with a Sanchez or Correa sub. Instead we held constant and only brought subs due to injury until it was too late for the subs to make an impact and we had lost control of the game.

That tells me that Inzaghi did not want to lose this match more then he wanted to win this match. Time will tell if that was the right choice. We are better then Milan, and perhaps we’ll catch up. I can understand the fear of going 10 points behind this early, however I don’t think that’s the mentality that’s going to win us another scudetto.

This team seems like they’re back to where we were in the first year with Conte. I don’t get the vibe we are the reigning Serie A champs. We are back to being flat track bullies that struggle in the big matches. The added benefit now is we play a little bit better as a team and our CL group is easier because of our seeding.

Mentally we’re weaker then last year, we’re less fit then last year, and our personnel in 3 key positions is markedly worse. When we adequately replace Hakimi, Lukaku and Eriksen then we can talk. Those are 3 players that on their day are world class. Until we replace what we’ve lost this is our new normal.

Lautaro and Dzeko were so bad today, I can’t believe Correa came in just now only due to Dzeko’s injury and Lautaro is still on the pitch. Seriously?
Why is it when Lautaro is awful we somehow include Dzeko lol the guy literally set up 3 clear cut chances for our team and was clearly our best player on the pitch lol

I love how a coach who we paid 2 seasons to not coach beat us today….

Also Lautaro isn’t our it guy…. And we should never have given him a big contract. Unless Messi forces PSG to buy him to make him happy….. I don’t know

On the other hand. Falcao scored on Barca and Real :) let’s see how he does against Brazil :)

I don't know what happen to Lautaro . Yesterday he so poor, and Inzaghi wait fucking 83 minutes to replace him with Sanchez.

Remember Conte take off Lautaro after subbed in ? Inzaghi doesn't have ball to take Lautaro sooner cost us point.

There's no way this Milan can be champion. We'll catch them until January.

Why the hell not? They have played Lazio H, Atalanta A, Roma A( 3 wins) , draw vs Juve A, draw with us. Only one big game vs Napoli left in the first round. While we lost to Lazio A, and drew 3 vs Ata, Juve, Milan . Still to play Roma, Napoli.

We could be 10 pts behind after next round with all the pressure because all the teams are gaining form behind us and catching up. Milan has a solid team, no point denying. But the season is still at the early stage. Basically 1/3 played. Anything can happen still. But we can't find us 15pts behind when the 2nd turn begins, then we're out. We are hanging in there, no big losses vs big teams, but we are struggling to finish matches and that is worrying. Milan doesnt have that worry with record breaking 32pts.

Toro's record at Inter is 7/10 after yesterday so not bad at all. Still, even the penalties he has scored hasn't been great IMO. Yesterday it showed that if the penalty is not great, keeper with a correct anticipation can save it. Tbh it was more about Tatarusanu than Toro that the pen was saved but still, you can't give that chance.

Kessie put his leg between Hakan's legs. Totally unnatural move and Doveri immediately called it.

Milan has everything to beat the teams lower than top 4 and they are utilizing their strengths to the fullest. We on the other hand, are underachieving because of poor mentality and maybe also due to lack of discipline.

Probably a fair result but fuck me we had the chances before to win it before the 85th minute onwards semi collapse. I like Dimarco but the guy is not a CD. Gets pulled out of position constantly, is small and not entirely that quick. I feel no confidence with him in a back 3.

The Barella injury is worrisome. We’re fucked without him. Hopefully it isn’t that serious. Hakan was good finally but he was lacking on the corners though that’s not entirely his fault. Milan also did defend well.

Lautaro and Dzeko seem incompatible with each other. I’ve seen very little understanding between the two that gives me hope that it’ll get better. The former also seems very low on confidence and that saved PK showed it. Dzeko is old and plays entirely too many minutes and can’t be expected to keep playing at the level he did 5 years ago on a consistent basis.

All in all, not the best way to go into an international break but not the worse either I guess.

i think thats the formula to win scudetto.. never lose point on lower teams, draw/lose on bigger team is a calculated lose point.

Yep, sounded pretty much cliche, but it's bleeding my eyes how players who were resolute as fuck last season turned into bunch of amateurs

I think in all so called "big games" (Milan, Lazio, Gobbi, Real Madrid) so far, we have been good, overally we have not been outplayed by the oposition. I do not include Atalanta because I could not watch it. The problem is we simply fail to take advantage of the situations we have.

Yesterday we wasted FOUR 100% chances in front the goal - two in the first half (Barella and Lautaro) and two in the second half (Vidal and Hakan). And I do not mention the missed penalty. That's a big number. To be hones I'm more mad now than after the game against Gobbi.

no doubt about it, thats the intangible feature of a winning coach
but we cant blame inzaghi since the managment begged him to come
midfield was out of concentration too,sad result like juve
seems like it will be a CL rank season.

Our finishing let us down in this game. We had 4-5 great chances and could not even score one out of them. Milan did well twice in the game - a brief spell in the mid of first half and last 5-7minutes in the second half. If you do not take your chances, despite getting many opportunities throughout the game, you only have to blame yourself - how could we miss that many chances !!!!

Inzaghi for once was late with the substitutions. Not sure if it could have changed anything but should have taken the risk. Sad to see another game where we failed to get 3 points, despite deserving it.
