Both Barella and Lautaro had fitness problems coming to this match. And we have an important game midweek too. These subs made sense when we were comfortably 2 up.

You cant account for everything, and today it was Mertens goal that fucked thing up a bit. But all in all, the subs are fine, we were unlucky, thats it.

We were not unlucky. We were lucky to hold on to the win. Two massive misses by Napoli, mertens 100% should have scored. We are so lucky we didn't throw away a lead YET AGAIN.

Those 2 Mertens chances and his goal add up to about 1 xG, so maybe we were neither lucky nor unlucky. It just that we conceded the least likely goal which changed the tide and opened up the game for them to have more chances.

I wonder what the xg was on perisic header and lautaros goal. Would not have been higher.

The fact remains we were in complete control until the 70th minute until he made his changes, in which we then totally fucking hung on to the win. Just like against milan

What subs was he supposed to make? I come on FIF and sometimes I think we have prime Zanetti, Cuchu and Stankovic on the bench.

Players need to be rested for Wednesdays game which is much more important for us going forward.

Rather than bitching about Simone's subs, how about we get him some competent players he can rotate with.

Substituting attacking players with defenders to defend the lead works with any team in the world but not with Inter. This should be lectured to Inter coaches every week like it's a safety instructions.

Yes, but coming back to my post regarding the fitness issues and the upcoming fixtures. You can clearly see where he came from. Shakhtar is decidedly a more important match this game.

His subs had a pathetic impact and you say he needs to rest players for the game this week, if that was his mindsigbt, he near threw this game away. We needed to win this game as well.

Not sure I agree. This isn't the first game his subs have been a disaster. We very nearly lost the milan game as well. Hakan can play more than 60 mins ffs.

I agree with this, he needs to start giving Hakan more trust. Should have been Vidal for Barella. But Hakan was on yellow and I’m not sure if I’m saying this with the benefits of hindsight.

They did't have to be made, Einstein. If the subs didn't work, as you admitted, they are NOT good. It is as simple as 1+1=2.

The thing is, almost entire FIF forsaw all that disaster coming the moment he made those subs. I am sure so did many serie A experts and pundits. That was fucking clear as daylight

I htink we need to be specific...the sub we all had a problem with was Gagliardini. Bringing on DiMarco, Satriano, Vidal, and Dzeko (although disastrous in its own way) was fine. But alternatively we could've brought on Dumbfries and Kolarov :lol:
