When they say close the signing in January, that is for the summer correct? Does anyone know how it works in terms of this? Would closing mean that he would do his medical now in prep for the summer transfer? Is that even allowed?

Guarro seems to say we already have the agreement, so what does he mean that we want to close the deal in January?

Like Skriniar, if this happens, Zielinski probably would be eating bench for the rest of the season.

I have always been a huge fan of Zielinski but it's true he has declined in the last two seasons. I understand the comparison with Nainggolan but circumstances are different.

- Nainggolan was forced out of Roma while Zielinski is leaving on his own
- Nainggolan was expected to be the midfield leader and savior in a dysfinctional midfield that had only one top player in Brozovic while Zielinski is expected to be one extra option in a well functioning midfield
- Nainggolan was a very costly operation while Zielinski would come on a free.

Zielinski deal has its risks but i feel it's a risk you need to take. Mkhi isn't getting any younger and there's no money for a proper replacement.
Also let’s remember the expectations we have for Mkhi before he arrived. He wasn’t expected to be a bonafide starter.

Skriniar was injured. He still played some important matches e.g. Porto after he made clear that he's leaving.

Just to pen the contract, like Skriniar did with PSG.

Zielinski had 18 g+a last season, he's currently 6g+a. I think for free and with such experience you can't find better options. He's still in his prime and we probably lose plenty of wages ( Sensi, Alexis , Cuadrado, Klaassen ) to have room for his entry. Zielinski would start instantly @any Serie A club , but not for us. That says it all.

Our wage bill will rise considerably this year, also Lauti will have a 1M€ bump and its a smart thing to do now before Vlahovic will start earning 12M€ net and ruining this best striker's wage hierarchy .

We are critical because as much as our management does good, there were a bunch of bad decisions as well, like bringing back Lukaku, buying Correa for 3x the money he is worth, not expecting Perišić and Skriniar would leave Inter, ...

I don't mind getting Zielinski, but I'd like to know the plan. Why him and would he even start next season instead of Mkhi?

Come on guys. Like you were born yesterday. There would be no winter transfer. Good players don't get traded midseason, especially when their contracts are expiring.

he is not coming in January. But he can agree to a contract with Inter for the summer.

I don't mind it now, even with his salary, considering Sensi will free up the money. So 6 mids will be Barella, Frattesi, Miki, Hakan, Asllani, Zielinski. If Klassen stays, that's 7 mids.

So as it stands our midfield will consist of Hakan, Barella, Mkhi, Frattesi, Zielinski, and Asllani next season. This is a competitive midfield I would say. I hope we’ll add someone more physical or in general a seventh midfielder, because of our big amount of games next season. I’d try Thiago or Castrovilli.
