Why do you support Inter, and how did you choose Inter?

In 97or 98 watchin WC '94 highlights i became Roberto Baggio fan!!! I knew nothing about him and club football , exept Baggio's new team ( Inter, of course )!!! So INTER was first club name i learned!!! since that time i support them in troubles ( 97-04 ) and happines ( 04-06 )
Baggio gave me Inter and Scuadra Azzurra!!!
And my favourite game of alltime is Inter-Real 3-1 with Baggio's double!!!

I first fell in love with inter because of recoba,his technique is just incredible, besides,he is called chino,and i am a chinese boy.then i watch a lot of matches of inter ,now i am a big inter fan.i will support this team forever,no matter what happens.
by the way,there are lots of inter fans in china,just like me.in almost every big university we have inter groups.

First i loved very much Ronaldo, when he came to inter i also bacem uuna interista when he goes at Real ii coud'n let Inter and like this

My first meeting with Inter was at my family vacation in Italy in 1997.
I liked the black and blue shirt( black and blue is my favourite colors) very much, and they had just signed Ronaldo, a great famous player.
And then it just went on from there

i don't really remember,they were allways in my heart...but i think it was the 1996-1997 Uefa Cup that really got me into them cause i saw a lot of matches on tv and i also remember loosing the final on penalties,that really sucked

I've just turned 30, so been supporting Inter since I was about 12-13. I met the Scudetto team in 1989, they were staying in the Grand Hotel in Lido di Camaiore which is where we are from. Had just signed Klinnsmann and Brehme, saw them along with Berti, Serena, Zenga, Ferri etc. Loved them ever since, plus all my mates in Italy, since we're mainly from Toscana, supported Fiorentina (I can cope with them), but the others were bandwagon jumpers and supported Juventus. I mean I know I should really support a Tuscan side but I felt I could choose anyone since my family were from all over Italy. But Inter it was!

From then on every summer in Italy I've had to put up with jibes like "Inter, only champions in August!" "The only cup you'll win is the Birra Moretti" etc etc, so this summer has been particulary sweet. Not the way I'd like to win a scudetto, but its totally deserved, don't care what Gobbi or Milanisti say, we have been screwed out of so many matches and many incidents have not gone our way. Ronaldo-Iuliano comes to mind, plus countless other games where we've had goals ruled out or players sent off. Makes up for the Lazio game in Cupers season as well, Lazio were dire all season and then played out their skin that day, while Udinese lay down to Rubentus. We so deserved the title that year too.

Anyway I'm rambling slightly, but to answer your question, yeah I probably remember some players and times where Inter were not as strong as they are now, however every year there were certain players that become real beneamati of the club.

Berti and Bianchi are two that I loved, also liked Sergio Battistini, Taribo West, Davide Fontolan, Felice Centofanti (pretty poor player, but great hair!) Pierluigi Orlandini, Massimo and Antonio Paganin, Paul Ince, Benoit Cauet (fine player, gave his all every game), Ganz (until he joined Milan, still mystifies me why certain players have done this), Branca, Pagliuca, Sosa, Moriero (the shoe-shine boy - great celebration), Diego Pablo Simeone (another brillaint player, many teams were defeated as soon as they saw him on the pitch), Bam-Bam Zamorano, Djorkaeff (met him in France when I was away skiing, nice guy, signed my Gazzetta), Ramon Diaz (only stayed a season I think, but scored some total peaches). Used to quite like Fabio Galante as well, met him once as well.

Most of all today I like Zanetti, a true captain, gentleman and an Inter legend, closely followed by Cambiasso, who seems to have become a legend extremely quickly. Like Il Chino as well, yeah not always consistent but a true Interista. Also like to mention Roberto Scarpini from Inter channel, makes listening to games a total joy. Hopefully my mate is getting Sky Italia this season and we'll share the card with our receivers!

Inter has been my team from 1998 when Baggio transferred to Nerazzurri. Before that it was just an interesting team (I used to hate all the gloryhunters who were walking around with Ronaldo-jerseys...) with great colours and they played well in the UEFA-cup. Especially Moriero, Zanetti and Zamorano looked great even before I had practically any emotions towards Inter.

From thereon, Inter has been The Only Team for me, and so it will remain untill I die.

The first football team that I saw is Inter, i'm amazed to see how they play the ball, mainly because THE TRAITOR can dribble the ball so fast and elegant. Hence I support Inter till now and forever. I'll never give up on Inter. although EPL is more interesting to be seen nowadays.

The first time i heard about INTER was when i saw BOLOGNAvsINTER match on TV in 1994. I dunno how, but i supported INTER the first time i saw it. I think INTER lost that game tho lol

i support inter since season 97/98..because of ronaldo,i saw him in some newspaper and i liked the color,player..for my first inter jersey i most to sing

hmm, why?. I dont know really, i watched some inter games some years ago and fell in "love" with Adriano, then i was hooked . Now i watch every single game at Internet or at some friends house.

i loved them since i was a kid and i was given their shirt by my brother when i was 4 and i i watch their every game minute by minute

A group of Italians and Swiss were unhappy about the domination of Italians in the AC Milan team, and broke away from them, leading to the creation of Internazionale. From the beginning, the club was open to foreign players and thus lived up to her founding name.

Even today, foriners are by many considered as citizens of lesser importance.
Just like those forin players that were unable to make the Milan team so many years ago, because thay werent Italians.
So for all the foriners feeling undervalued in their new countryes, its easy to feel as if Inter is playing for tham.

People who have lived in many different places and feel as if they are foriners where ever thay are and that they dont really have a proper home, also tend to feel related to Inter because thay feel international and Inter is the only international team.

Even people living whole of their lifes in one place can feel out of place.
Feel that they do not beling to the sociaty they live in.
Because they dont feel the sence of belonging to their own cityes and therefore local football clubs, or even clubs from their own country, they tend to support Inter, because they feel international and thay consider Inter the only international team out there.

There are many teams in the world called Inter or Internacional, but only one of them is true to its name.
Only one of them is safe heaven for forin players.
And that is our Inter.
Inter Milano.
If you look at the team, you would never emagine that its playing the Italian league because it has only two (2) Italian players. Toldo and Materazzi.
So this makes Inter the most uniq club in the world.

With so few Italians on Inter, you wouldnt only say that Inter just equals Italian and forin players but actually that it favours forin players.
And if that is the fact, you would have to wonder why would Italian citizens living in Milano support such a club.
