Lol, ok man, don't get that upset...:D

That's my oppinion, he didn't play good.. I am not saying he didn't try, or didn't run, but he wasn't on the wanted level...

Stankovic may have a had long stint of weak performances but he usually is and normally does create that desisive ball.
Mancini himself has said, stankovic is capable of doing something special despite a weak performance. Im not defending Mancini's persistence in keeping him on the field, especially when figo is on the bench. But lately it has paid off. Although Figo is capable of the same thing.

I dont think it paid off despite that one touch converted to goal..I would have used Figo or Jiminez as both would have been an upgrade offensively.Especially when Atalanta were attacking at 1-0 we needed someone to hold the ball and make good passes.

The point is, Jimmy was more deserving of Stankovic's spot. It doesn't matter if he did well, because he has done worse many more times. Mancini is like someone who lost $1000 to the slot machines and finally made $10... it doesn't make up for it, he should'nt have started stan. If Stankovic was capable of doing something special, I think not playing him would have allowed others to do something even more special.

I don't understand Mario's sub though. Why can't he play for full 90 minutes, Mancio? Unless...for a fact that he already booked.

Figo, on the other hand, didn't refuse to come in when we're 2 goals up :D

So Mancio can suck up and kiss Figo's feet.

lol, deki OK today?

Man, did you watched the game? Except few good passes, he did nothing, he lost all the balls he got... He was our weakest player today...
Ofcourse i watched game. And yea, let's see if in Gazetta he's also weekest player like you think. Ofcourse you maybe think you know better that gazetta and are football expert (what football team you coach? ;) I think all team was ok today, best today was Capitano, Cambiasso and Rivas. Balotelli was ok, and Stankovic ok too.
I think problem is that people are excepting Stankovic to play some fast, king of dribling, atacking midelfielder like young Figo. Well he's not that type, he use much energy on defending which benefit all team, and from time to time he make some beautifull pass which can decide games. The reason that he also made not good passes is that he many times try some very hard long pass, and it's no suprise that it don't work sometimes.
Ofcourse I also think he should play better, but today, for me, he was not bad. You think different, fine you have all rights to do that.

inter.it ratings

Balotelli 8.46
Vieira 8.05
Zanetti 7.84
Cambiasso 7.77
Rivas 7.64
Julio Cesar 7.20
Maicon 6.71
Cruz 6.69
Figo 6.67
Maxwell 6.52
Crespo 6.52
Burdisso 6.31
Materazzi 6.28
Stankovic 6.27

I haven't been paying attention, but we should always post inter.it ratings after the game. At the end of the day, we all have our own independent opinions... even gazzetta is objective... but the ratings on inter.it are great because they reflect the average of a large number of fans. For example, the above simply tells you that stankovic was crap... there's no point in arguing about it :)

I dedicate this morale-boosting victory to:

1)Rodrigo Taddei who was 100% certain that romerda will win the scudetto and DDR who wanted to give..lessons to Inter on how football is played..
Manchester's players are waiting to smash them once again now and Friuli is one of the hardest grounds in Italy..

2)Mancio.Even though he has been critisised a lot(fairly),he risked by giving the chance to a 17year old boy in one of the most important matches of the season..And Mancio succeded.Balotelli created our first goal and finihed the second, showing a character of an experienced and clinical striker.
No coach in Italy would have done this, everyone expected a Cruz-Crespo pair up front.

3)Romerda's fans who started talking about contoversial victories immediately after Vieira's goal.Perhaps, they have already forgotten Camoranesi's offside goal against our team and the fact that yesterday they beated Genoa with sheer luck..They were also CERTAIN that Inter wll not make it in Bergamo, too bad for them Atalanta didn't reach their expectations..

4)To Mario of course, the future of Inter..

5)To the always anti-Inter bergamaschi fans..

Win against Atalanta is a HUGE step for the scudetto..
Congats to the players who remembered their preChristmas performances, played calmly and smartly..

FORZA RAGAZZI

You guys need to understand Mancini’s tactics which is, Defending comes first and not creating goal scoring oppurtunities. It’s a coaching philosophy that is very similar to Capello, and MOURINHO.

A team like Roma is the opposite and usually create 20 chances. But usually are very weak at the back and lack that final ball, espcially if totti is not there. But if that final ball is not there then the whole play is useless.
And we saw that when they played against Man U. While Man U on the other hand literally created a handful of chances and scored on two of them.

Mancini emphasis on defending first, and taking your chances on break. In order to play this way a coach needs clinical players who are capable of producing the final ball. Within Inters roster there are very few midfielders who can do that. Figo and stankovic being the only ones. Jiminez is capable of holding the ball and beating his defender, but his final ball always lacks. Although he is a desisive finisher, he has never created that final ball, except on free kicks. Stankovic on the other hand has and the result is what matters.

Good performance from the boys. Not 100% happy. We didn't keep possession like I like to see. But we did enough to win.

Mostly happy with mancini today with the exception of stankovic ahead of jimenez. He got burdisso-rivas ahead of matrix right as well as mario ahead of cruz.

No, it tell that perhaps Inter fans who watch game on tv like us, want more atacking football, and don't preshiate all defending which Stankovic do. With Jimenez we would surly have more chances of scoring goals, but also getting goals in own net. 0 - 2 works fine for me;)

Heh maybe if we had proper defenders instead of out-of-form Burdisso and Matrix we wouldn't need our attacking midfielders to defend ;)

We should just win Viola and get draw with Milan or vice versa and this Scudetto is ours. Though, i am a bit afraid of away game at Parma in last round.

I hope we do that!...anyway if Parma are safe before the last round I think Cuper might give us a hand....I mean...he knows how it feels to lose the Scudetto in the last round:(

winning the next 2 games is a must because i believe Roma will drop points vs Udinese so beating Fiorentina would definetely add a deadly blow to their campaign if they only get 1 point and we get 3 then we'll have 6 points ahead of them with 3 games to go....and if we hold that lead for 1 more game than we'll have the scudetto in our pockets

**** this.

I thought that the game would start on 5:00pm, so I came a whole hour late. I almost smashed my TV. :wallbang:

Based on the last 40 minutes of what I saw from the game, we're slowly getting back into our form of last year. Good, let's keep it going when we face BBilan.

It was easily our best game since 1 month ago. The thing i don't like is when we give the possesion for nothing, we don't have a david pizarro or a pirlo, but we can play football, no need to give always the possesion.

Good performance considering we were playing against a tough home team.

Vieira was immense today, he was really commanding, I just wish he has more of these performances. He has so much class (football-wise) that he can give consistent performances when healthy.

Balotelli was great today, specially his dead-ball deliveries. And like someone here said, it's a shame that our best dead-ball player is a 17 year old Primavera!!!

I said before the game that this was 3 points for us and I also said things will only get better.

Not just are some of our injured players getting back, other players can no get a breather.

Mancio said:
Zanetti, for example, seems made of iron, but he too needs to take a breather now and again.

Also with only one game a week instead of 2-3, not only does it let everyobne rest a little easier, but finally mancini can have a few proper training sessions one after the other.

Mancio said:
"They did well today after a week of training sessions, and I'm convinced that they will do even better next week."

Totally agree with him.
