btw, anyone knows where to view stats of "players' distance covered" or something? I wanna see if our players are lazy bums or if they just run around like headless chickens.

mancini is and
Ref gave them quite a lot. All 50-50 challenges, all the dives, Chivu yellow card, Ibra offside, when he was one on one with the keeper, and Evra not getting a card for a blatant handball denying a cross. I have seen red cards given for that.

Figo didnt play, because he is old and way past it. We could have used him in the last few minutes for his crosses, but Mourinho had other ideas.

Why did we play so narrow? We dont have the players to go wide. We only had Quaresma and Mancini, and both of them were sucking. Player like Quaresma never would work in SERIEA, but I think he could have done much more against English opposition, stupidity really to sell him. A.Mancini was not even on the bench. Dont know why. Mourinho seems hell bent on playing our all the midfieders with same characterstic.

Hope he learned form his mistakes and does better in the second leg. Wont count on it.

Cant really wish you good luck today. Actually I hope my man Dossena makes a coupe of mistakes and gifts Robben two goals. :D.
Go Dossena, make Sharon proud.

The ref did favour them, deffo ibra was onside, though there should have been a yellow for parks dive as well, but all that is glossing over how inter played tbh, i was shocked, expected so much more from a team thats top of a very technical lge, ibra and adriano MUST show a bit more mobility / willingness to move about in the return. yes i know you might not have great offensive wide players ( altho i used to love watching figo, superb player, and surely worth 15 mins? ) i was talking about STOPPING them rather than offensively. i know you wont wish me good luck, lol. dossena isnt playing thank f##k! but the way madrid and robben have been playing lately you might get your wish for us to be beaten anyway. no gerrard either so not hopefull,we'l see. btw bookmakers have stopped taking bets on rafa being the first prem manager to leave his job today! he's 1 to 2 on not to be lpool manager nxt yr,and they have taken loads of bets he wont be here by the weekend! guess who is one of the favorites to take over???? yes.....JM! ffs! the fans would be split on that tbh,all out of town fans would take him,but the scousers wouldnt. i dont think it will happen anyway, but he did apply for lpool job before chelsea, looks like rafa is gone sooner or later tho, something has to give, all the infighting behind the scenes and rafas contract talks have ruined our season. anyway im off to watch the game,HOWEVER.... i do still wish YOU the best of luck in the return leg, because i fuc##ng despise the mancs.

If I remember correctly our players cowered more distance than Manchester. Deki ran the most with just under 12km, then Cambiasso. Adriano had 7 when replaced

At half time Deki had 6km and Muntari just under 6km. So basically we ran like headless chickens:D

i was shocked

How can you be shocked? Didnt you see your own team demolish us last year?

Nothing has changed since, same squad, same formation, same tactic.

You of all people should be least surprised really.

I saw the Match, Inter cannot string 3 passes together. That is Mourinho's doing no? His teams play with such horrible style.

Yet a completely different result.

azz, I know you like to stir up controversy bro, and your a good poster and everything but when it comes to our important games you end up writing a bunch of bullshit and it's a shame really because you write some good stuff sometimes.

Why don't you get behind your team for once, stop being a pessimistic asshole, and realize that we played 45 min of decent football vs. Man United and that they weren't really a big threat to us after Rivas got subbed off?

C'mon man, I know under that emo Danish hairstyle there's a sad kid who didn't get enough titty and who just wants to scream out FORZA INTER but can't because it'll destroy his online 'FI image'.

tott, your post is simultaneously insightful, hillarious, and conclusive.

I don't think there's anything more to say about the situation! Post of the month.

From what I recollect the team average for us was 1-2km less than theirs. We were well below them till Muntari was replaced. I don't think much changed after that.

I was happy with the result because I thought we would lose, not because of anything else.

I was disappointed with Adriano, why the heck did he go for the dive against Rio? If he fought Rio and headed the ball, that would have been a goal. I didn't like his antics during the game, he was hesistant and didn't have confidence. Too bad because otherwise he was one of our better players.

Cambiasso and JZ impressed my immensely, it was one of their better games. Thank god for JC and ManU's lackluster strikers.

We need to go to Old Trafford and play care-free soccer because otherwise they will win. We have to act like a coming-of-age, free-spirited European girl emarking on a care-free trip to a hostile land where she gives it and takes it. We need to set caution aside and just go for it.

Losing 1-0 and 5-0 is the same now. If we score against Man U, then they will get nervous and that's when we should hit them, they don't have grit like us when down.

Needless to say, we need players like Mancini and Balotelli here, Muntari should stay away.

Is this possible under Mourinho?
Forget the coach, even players like Capitano and Cuchu are anything but carefree.

TBH azz, no,i didnt see us "demolish" you last year, maybe but for a few decisions/misses the tie with us and yourselves might have turned out differently, who knows? i love my club as you know, but we didnt demolish you. my only critiscism of inter last year was that they seemed to lack fight/belief,thats all,and the tie at san siro was more comfortable than i expected, it seems to me( as a "nuetral")that inter dont have enuf belief in themselves, but saying that.....at least in the 2nd half on tuesday it seemed to "dawn" on inter that maybe the mancs are'nt invincible after all! getting away from technicalities and tactics etc,50% of the battle ( especially against prem teams ) is actually "working"/closing down etc,and hopefully inter have realised this now? you STILL have a good chance if you FIGHT!

haven't been here in a while thought but this tie is too important not to comment

It was an exciting match that had me on the edge of my seat yelling at my tv but i'm unhappy with the result. I'm pleased that we didn't concede after a horrible 30 minutes in the first or all game but we should have managed to score.

the decision to start rivas was mind boggling, the central defense got owned hard and the midfield was scrambling to try and help out. thank god cordoba came on in the 2nd and it allowed us to calm down and have posession and try to create in united's end. Julio Cesar keeps proving that he is possibly the best in the world.

Muntari and stan played real poorly(stan was a bit better in 2nd half) especially in the beginning of the game. Even during united's period of dominance Inter had some really promising posession in and around the box but the attacks were ruined by poor sloppy passes or shots by the previous mentioned players. It looked like they were really nervous and you can tell by the way their passes were coming off and even the way they were dribbling.

My main concern going into the 2nd leg is the lack of creativity and service. Ibra I thought was quiet in the first but played well providing his beautiful chips, lay offs and passes and holding the ball well allowing others to get into the attack. However he wasn't really granted a true chance other than that horrible offside call. Adriano was running hard and he made one really nice turn and run in the 1st half but other than that his dribbling was sloppy and he just can't finish. we need him to execute better and take our chances especially in a close match.

I have faith in Julio Cesar who was man of the match. I have faith that samuel will be fit and paired with chivu or cordoba they will have a great match in defense. Santon is absolutely amazing, he made nice runs and just would not let ronaldo get by him. (Lippi pay attention) but the fact is that we need somebody in our midfield to step up and create oppenings for our strikers or we need Zlatan to have a special game and create something brilliant. I would not mind seeing Figo or Mancini incorporated for the next game just for that purpose. Perhaps Balotelli could also be a difference maker. We'll see who mourinho plays in our matches before hand but I hope adriano will find some finishing because a goal is vital.

we'll see come March 11 and I do believe we can prevail. FORZA INTER!!!!!!
