It must be wonderful to be a Barca fan, to choose the manner in which you win and not be happy enough with the W it's self? I envy you sir..

Just 1 question, before everyone and their mother started supporting Barca and you'd win a Liga here and there whilst RM wiped the floor with you through most of the late 90's and early 00's were you more upset about not winning or not strutting your Joga Bonito?

See what you said is utter crap, all you have to do is go back a few seasons before Ronaldinho/Messi, Barca never played to entertain they were like everyone else and most "barca fans" would be happy with "only" a win so take your holier than thou and shove it...

Today Luciano Moggi's legal team showed UEFA evidence of phone calls which allege that Inter owner Massimo Moratti spoke with Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson(fifth and current President of Iceland)few days before volcano eruption.Apparently Moratti asked Olafur to throw some kind of bomb in Eyjafjallajokull volcano which caused an eruption and ash cloud from volcano disrupted air travel in Europe just ahead of Inter-Barcelona match.

The Catalan club was forced to use buses for the 450-mile trip to Milan after flights were grounded due to the cloud of volcanic ash from Iceland that has spread across Europe in recent days.

Appearantly Moratti will use any means necessary to win against Barcelona.
UEFA could open their own investigation about this shameful act.

:D:D:p

I knew it :p

Hard not to when you've won everything, best player and have a style of play that is very attcractive but still effective. Hopefully we'll see that end now.

How? Final results are final. It proves that on the day, the winning team won. In the history books it won't be written about how beautiful a team plays, it's who wins.

And being a culé, I know this well but final results aren't all that matter to Barca fans...The manner in which you win, does matter...I won't say it trumps winning but there is far less joy in an ugly win

C4 Article on Mou's Comments Ahead of Barca Clash

“Their trip wasn't comfortable but if it was me I would try to use it in order to keep the players united,” added Mou.

“There are players like Dennis Bergkamp who would rather go by bus anyway. Sometimes you face difficult scenarios. We went to Moscow for the quarters and found a plastic pitch, still we played and won.”

haha... I love this man

Reaction of Eto'o and VanBronckhorst are classic !! ;)

Rumour has it that Inter will play a 4-1-4-1 Maicon in midfield

I wonder if Eto'o would ever have guessed that one day he would be managed by the man who slapped Puyol, and would one day be marked by his captain in a CL Semi Final

Pushing, shirt tugging and 'minor' foot tackles are fouls...If you want to rewrite the rules of the game, by all means start a new sport or join up with rugby.

and this is why this will be the last time i "discuss" anything with you....
you know exactly what i am talking about, yet want to act like you don't

...And "football minus the football" might be the most nonsensical construction I have ever seen in my life. I can't wait until your side is eliminated by 11 men who arent playing football. :howler:

There is a smart saying in football:

"You can play only the way your opponent let you play".
Barcelona fans know this all too well, and the reminder of that, they got in the weekend. They play great, but if the opponent is briliant tacticaly, closes the spaces, pack the midfield, then even the "galactic" Barcelona can't do squat. (chances wise, not possesion wise)

I'm afraid that's simply not true. There's a couple of things wrong with trying to play "like Espanyol". 1, I doubt the ref will allow us to literally kick the shit out of them, without giving us yellow cards along the way.

2, There's no way we can keep up that kind of tempo for the full 90 minutes, and therefore around the 70th we'll be dead tired and they'll score for sure, which is most likely what would of happened if they wouldn't of been reduced to ten men.

3, Barca no doubt had the Inter match in mind and didn't want to pick up any uneccesary injuries.

Also they didn't play with Ibra, so whenever they did get pressured and had to hoof it, there was nobody to hoof it to. With Ibrahimovic there even if we pressurize them ferociously, a nice percentage of the time they'll still end up higher up pitch with possession.

And another thing: they played a very strange formation with Maxwell up top with Pedro and Messi. I doubt they'll play such an unusal formation against us. That can't be underestimated either.

I'm afraid that if Barca play their best game there's little we can do to stop them from keeping possession. And if you think there is, just using the Espanyol match as an example, you're mistaken.

This is what this game will be all about, and this is why Arsenal was crashed by Barcelona, even though Arsenal has twice the speed, the creativity, the "youth" throughout their ranks than we do, and this is exactly why most likely we won't be crashed. Unliked the mentioned Arsenal.

You're absolutely in dreamland. I don't know if you're trying to psyche yourself up or if you really believe what you're writing but most likely we'll be outplayed, dominated and lose.

The question is, will Inter let Barcelona play they way they do, or not ? Because we all know how Barcelona play, and there will be nothing new about that. They also keep a certain level, and rarely they play below some level.

Nah, the question is will Barcelona play to the best of their ability or not. If not they'll still keep a vast majority of the possession but we'll have a few more chances at goal. If they do, this game will look much like the first time we played them, except they'll most likely score this time around.

It is all down to Inter, and the deffensive masterpiece. Barcelona is worlds great in playing offense, but italians know other way of art too. And this is the the art of deffense.

You have almost a ridiculous amount of faith Luka. If they beat us most likely it won' be because we employed the wrong gameplan, but because we simply lost to a better team. For us to beat them they need to have a bad day, that's just the way it is.

If at the end of the day, Inter will win, and Barcelona with 70% of ball possesion will look like they are just banging with their heads against the wall, our job was done.

And the world will praise our 30%. Not Barcelonas 70%.

That I can agre with though. Results is what matters in the end. To get those results our best strategy should be to sit back, shrink spaces and focus on counterattacks, not run ourselves tired by trying to pressurize them, because most likely it won't work anyway. Shrink spaces, park the bus, and play the right players, i.e Balotelli over Pandev. That should be our gameplan.

but pandev has "high workrate" and "works for the team"!!!
it doesn't matter if he is contributing ZERO to our offense.....

Your ignorance about the club of Barcelona is pretty clear let alone the sentiments about how culés view the way the game is played...The way they play matters and it's also the reason that apart from the recent successes, they always remain at the top of the league in terms of fairplay and least amount of fouling

So when Iniesta scored at the death at the bridge last year you almost stroked out cuz you're through to the final or in the manner you achieved it?

I'm not gonna pretend to be an expert bout Barca's history but I've been watching football long enough to know a decent bit bout your club and you do pride yourself on a certain philosophy but having it on the same level as results is a load of bull. Its always nice to achieve something in an admirable manner but never over the result it self and no matter what you say bout you cules nothing will convince me otherwise.

Like any set of fans that have been spoilt for too long Barca fans understandably have developed a superiority complex that is truly unbearable for other sets of fans to tolerate. That said I've been reading your post since the group stages and you're a class act..
