Leonardo has lost many of the important matches as a Milan coach:

Here we go... Our Inter: 4-0 & 2-0 (With Mou sayin' we could have won with 7 players...)

Kjaer & Cavani's Palermo: 2-0 & 3-1
Di Natale & Inler's Udinese : 1-0
Palombo & Cassano's Sampdoria: 2-1
Sokratis & Amelia's Genoa 1-0

Even in his big wins he conceded too many goals...

With Cagliari: 4-3 & 3-2
With Genoa: 5-2
With Udinese 3-2

How can you trust him as a coach? I don't think we actually need a coach to win the Lecce's and Bari's (excuse my english...)

Every "big name coach" has a team behind him... Mou had Rui Faria (fitness), Jose Morais & Andre Vilas Boas (technical) & Silvino Louro (goalkeeping)... What about Leonardo?? Our players' condition is terrible.. Who is gonna bring them back into top condition???

I'm very worried... The only "good" thing about Leonardo is that he employs a 4-3-3 (most times) with a tough triad in midfield... He had Gattuso, Ambrosini & Pirlo at Milan, hopefully he can do the same with Cambi, Sneijder and ... well(!) a third one...

I think it was the best appointment for Inter at this time. We couldn't get Spalletti because of contractual reasons, and who is to say that Leo isn't as good as Spalletti - Spalletti was at Roma for a long time and was always our rival, so in the former rival coming to coach Inter stakes they are not that far apart. And sure Zenga was an option, but call me naive, Moratti loves this team and wants Inter to succeed - I'm sure that he too was convinced that Leonardo can do the job.

I dont know if its just me but I feel very assured and safe with Leonardo on the bench - I feel like he commands the respect of the players and that he has the character and mentality to inspire and lead. I'm really pleased that Zanetti has vocally supported the selection of Leonardo as coach - it shows that el Capitan and the other senior players respect and admire him. Also, his connections to Brazil are unbeatable. Im sure that we'll be able to sign some amazing talents.

For the moment, Inter needs to be in first place. Leonardo needs to fix that first. I have always liked him as a player and now he's our coach, I'm pleased. Please fix the situation Leo!

Welcome Leo.

I have always admired him as a human, although I must admit I don't know much about his coaching abilities.
He's now our coach and I will give him my full support, let's hope that the management does the same.

Forza Inter!

Leonardo has lost many of the important matches as a Milan coach:

He also won many important games. Brilliant of you to deliberately leave out the Juventus games ( 3-0 both home and away), the Roma games (home win, away draw) and Madrid games (away win, home draw). Milans squad last season wasnt half as strong as it is this season, thats a fact.

Leonardo did reasonably well with the limited potential that Milan team had. In fact id bet Milan would be in an even stronger position today in serie a if leonardo had stayed. They played far better football under leonardo, but he didnt have the stars they brought in this summer. He got the best out of Dinho again too, who has struggled under Allegri.

I don't think we actually need a coach to win the Lecce's and Bari's (excuse my english...)

Rafa couldnt beat the likes of Lecce, brecia and Chievo so yes, apparently we do need a coach to win these games.

Leo is much better option then Benitez...Despite his past with ACM, I agree with BrigateNerezzuri, that he's best appointment for Inter at this time. Like a journalist (don't remember his name) from Gazzetta said, Leo is an option for Moratti until 2012...There will be many names available after EURO-2012.
But I wonder if we can convince Gabriele Oriali to come back instead of Amedeo Carboni. Does someone know if Carboni had already gone with Benitez or not?

He doesn't really have a staff of his own that follow him around like mou, rafa, mancio, ect had. At milan he used in house guys like tassoti.

Pretty sure he will use baresi in some capacity and bernazini(spelling?) as well. Will be interesting to see what staff he does employ.

Yes, i'm curious to see what staff he'll employ. Mourinho employed baresi and bernazzani, but for athletic trainer, GK coach, rival match scout, he got his own (Rui Faria, Silvino, Andre Villas-Boas/Jose Morais). Rafa also employed baresi and bernazzani, but got Xavi Valero, etc.
It's means we don't have house guys as GK coach and match scout. Maybe we'll see toldo as our new GK coach? :D

Noone ofcourse. But it's the same as if we took Sanchez and say, who is to say he won't be another Ronaldo ?

It's all about percenteges. You can take the coach off the streets, and he will be the next Mourinho. But what chance there is for that ?

Now you take Mourinho, and what chance you have that he will lead to a success ?

So that's the difference. The difference is about the probability, and Leonardo might become a succesfull coach in the end with us, but if we're honest the odds of that weren't too high when we were discussing him before we signed him.

i agree that Leo was the best choice for now...Milan were losing with 4-3-1-2, then switched to 4-2-fantasia, its called like this in italian press...something we like to play, 4-2-1-3...attacking and pressing in further area.

Lets not forget 7-2 to Manchester with Leo, but it was because of injuries. They lost 4-0 to us, They lost 2-0 to us, a game Mou said that we could have won it with 7 players. Milan's midfield was so static and without tempo, Ronaldinho doesnt track back, static, Pato is alwasy injured, when played, off course was a match winner yet he doesnt track back too. in attack, Borriello or Huntelaar, not a match winner alone, they are good striker in team work, Seedorf, Pirlo defensively weak players anymore, Gattuso was a disaster last season with Leo. This season Milan changed just because of 3 players, Boateng, Robinho and ibra.
