Ah, ok in terms of strategy I tend to agree because we really don't have the personell to be effective in a 4-3-3 but i believe that has less to do with the attackers and more to do with 3 mids and they had already proven they were struggling to connect when there were 4 of them in a 44-2 or 5 of them in a 4-2-3-1...
Coming off scoring five last game too two this game isn't really showing much, great teams struggle to score even two goals under certain circumstances... I would like to know what you think we should do with our current players, not condescending, honestly asking because i enjoy discussing strategy. Cheers!

And as far as attackers not being seen, some of that has to do with getting used to the style and the fact that you can't see three strikers being effective all of the time, it doesn't work that way. especially when the midfield isn't distributing evenly to the attack.. they were struggling for opportunities and i believe they capitalized fairly well..
Oh God. I have written so long then disappeared when I clicked reply.
1. Zarate needs to play as a supplier more than a scorer. We've seen when he starts passing the ball around instead of dribbling thru players, he creates more. He might be the only 1 or just one of few from our squad who can dribble thru players, but passing 1-2 defenders is not always the best option. If he can keep playing by creating more chances for goals, he would be a useful player.
2. Forlan needs to get up from his lazy ass. He didn't seem to want win or to feel proud with our colour. He is lack of desire to fight. He was invisible once again until he did the cross to Cuchu. but, that's the only thing he did today. He must also start playing with the team, not standing where he is and waiting for free ball.
3. Zarate-Forlan need to start playing together. 1 on the left and 1 on the right doesn't mean 'do your ouwn thing'. They need to work as 1 unit to attack with Milito. Pazzo is a hopeless thing now.
4. Midfield problem is the biggest problem but it's easier to solve. Stram just needs to play Cuchu where he plays best, DM. Cuchu plays as a DM means we have 2 defence line. First is the DM and then the CBs. This is the problem for our defence, we don't play a proper DM anymore. Fuck modern football, we won treble without modern football.
5. Lucio/Rano need to stop doing overlap. Their overlap more often cost us a goal and making 1. However, this is the problem playing without a real proper DM, our CBs need to cover the DM post sometimes because they are often exposed when we're attacked. The backbone of our treble winner team was 2 CBs stay behind the center line and a DM stays in front of 2 CBs. Lucio was not happy with Mou for this but we won everything with that formation. Because, without DM, CBs go high line, then when they fail to stop opponent play, we're screwed. When these happen, GK needs to step up, but GK can't stop evrything by himself. This has cost us JC red card and today's second goal. I believe in the last 2 years the reason our defense has been very poor is because we have lost what I used to call 'double-chain defence' where DM and CBs cover each other.
6. Stramaccioni problem is very similar to Leonardo's. Both of them played Cuchu too high. Stram needs to return Cuchu to DM and ask him to anchor that post, then Poli plays where Cuchu plays in the last 2 games. The other CM post should be a competition between Deki and Guarin. I'd prefer Poli-Cuchu-Guarin combination. However, I'm not sure yet if Guarin is a starter. He seemed lost in the game today. I won't consider Obi as a starter yet, he is often reckless in making decision.
7. We need to learn again how to play what we were born and famous to play: lesson 101 catenaccio.
In summary, ask CBs to stay back and don't cross the center line, ask Cuchu to play DM and plays Poli-Guarin/Deki as CM, lastly attack as a unit.
