Inter - Schalke 2011 ... I saw it with some friends. Terrible.

The disgraceful scenes against Milan 2005 and Valencia 2007.

The robbery against Juventus in 2018.

The day Ronaldo got knee re-injured the second time vs Lazio, he fell on his knee and screamed in agony.
Ah yep. I remember watching the game on my little panasonic tv in my little room and was so hyped and jumping on the bed when he got subbed on, because I knew it was the day he'd play or smth like that after a long time. A few moments later I was had warm tears and face buried on my little hands

Being Inter fan was always an adventure. I think you all will agree if i say that this club gave us a lot of beatifull and incredibile moments that no other team can give, but also very frustrating moments. Its in our DNA to make things that no one would expect, be it positive or negative.

I was thinking about this after reading some negative comments about our scudetto chances. After years of years of watching Inter we all know that this team is known to fuck up. No matter how great we are, the crazyness of this club has no limit, someone who follows Inter the last 10-20 years just knows it. We were also very unlucky sometimes, i would not say that it's always the fault of the coach or players.

But anyway, now my idea. At first i was thinking to make a post about It, the day we Will get the second star(with the Hope that is gonna be soon) just to "show" or make fun of what we had to go trough before getting finally the 20. scudetto.. but then i changed idea and wanted to create a section of it, where everyone can share something. I would like to list/Remember various moments of this club. Moments that were painfull in a way, even those who should supposed to be good but still feel fucked up or funny, if we think about It today. (just an example: Nagatomo scoring the decisive penalty against pordenone).
You can also be creative , Like for example "Mazzarri playing with hes bottles" which was a famous meme. Or you can also remember someone saying weird things, like Thohir for example, i think everyone remembers how much shit he said. Everything is allowed as long it is related to Inters past (interviews, something that happend in a game, curios things about players,...) I often think about it and im sure that there are things that got forgotten or maybe not everyone knows. Especialy someone that was not following Inter before 2018. I think we also have a lot of users here that started watching Inter before 2005 or even before the 2000s, maybe they could share things that not everyone knows.

Honestly i could write a book about all the curios stuff i saw as i watched almost all games starting from 2007. Of course most stuff is from the banter era, i would not even create this thread if there wasn't this 9 years of downfall.

So hope you guys like the idea, i think it could be entertaining. Lets see what funny or curios things you can get. I would also like to add that it's important to share something that you not always would remember (or even got forgot). The 5 Maggio or the Radu fail against bologna are for example too "famous", things like that would make it a litle bit boring
Maybe one day we can also make a Ranking if there are enough things, let's see.

Just to make some random examples and to start the thread:

-Shaqiri being an amazing player at he's first game for us against Celtic, but then becoming fast one of the worst Inter signing

-Guarin doing a blind back pass that became a perfect assist for the opponent (draw 2-2 against livorno that day)

-Inter doing an incredible remontada in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal against Juve (first leg 3-0 lost, second 3-0 won) with also almost winning it. But at the end we lost in the penaltys thanks to Palacio.

Tough to choose but Kakà breaking through with Milan and absolutely demolishing us in 03/04 comes to mind. As does the infamous missing var audio match vs Juventus in 17/18..

the Radu goalie error in late April 2022 when we had a game in hand for the scudetto race and gave the title to Milan

Not this again, that wouldn't have mattered, we couldn't score a goal that game even if we played another 30mins.

Enough said.

Lukaku:

a) redirected a pass into our net late in the 2nd half of the 2020 Europa League final, proving to be the decisive goal

b) blocked a sure Alexis goal on MD6 of the 2020-'21 group stage which would've secured advancement into the knockouts (admittedly, this may have also helped us win the Scudetto since we had no European football in the 2nd half of the season)

c) blocked the would-be tying goal late in the 2nd half of the 2023 Champions League final and then also missed a begging header opportunity in the dying minutes that also would have tied it

(To say nothing about his infamous performance for Belgium in the 2022 World Cup because that's Belgium's problem, not ours.)

Some of that might be rotten luck, but holy fuck, how much is it just rotten luck when you're the culprit over and over again? Fair or not, that guy is responsible for some of the single-most painful moments in this clubs history - esp. recent memory. And maybe you still accept the guy if you know he's committed to the badge and a hard worker and life isn't fair - Atletico fans were extremely quick to forgive Juanfran for his penalty miss in the 2016 UCL Final, just for one example - but Lukaku has proved himself to be a Grade-A turd. So glad we won't have to see him sabotage us any more in our shirt.

well my thread was more about "dark moments" or "curios/funny moments" that got forgotten, so not really "the most painfull" or worst day (as the threads are called)

it would be interesting as i said because there are a lot of things that happend and that people maybe are not even remembering.
Like another example, Icardi and Guarin having a discusion with some fans after loosing to Sassuolo (because apparently he gave he's shirt to a kid, and some ultras took the shirt away from him which was a litle disprespecting)

or another example. Thohir saying that he liked Inter because of the 3 famous dutch players. You know, things like that, and not only things that happend while the game or generelly the usual things someone would think about (radu fail, 5 maggio 2002..)

the rannochia fail that mentioned il drago is also a good example, already forgot that tbh

Not the defending of this error Again
If you knew how to count, youd know that a draw or loss would have yielded the same result. But you do you.

You say we weren't scoring no matter what the rest of the game no matter what, but:

a) there are plenty of games that look like that and, magically, a goal does get scored because this is a strange sport where spontaneous things can happen

b) if we were level on points with Milan vs. being two points behind, the difference is Milan has the pressure on them to win every game. As it was, they could afford one draw and still be ok. It turned out they won their remaining games anyway so it didn't end up mattering, but there was a brief moment in Verona late in the season where they trailed 1-0 near halftime (Verona were a decently good team that year) and the pressure would've been different if they knew they needed to overturn that into a win vs. "well, a draw here isn't the end of world".

So to minimize Radu's error into "well, do the math on the final table" is too reductionist.
