Can Canna - Cordoba work?

You have to be realistic mate. Burdisso is very promising, but at least for the upcoming season he's in Milan to learn, and to play when Matrix-Cafe-Canna are injured, suspended or tired. It'll be hard for Mancio to pick 2 between those 3 already, especially for big matches. Burdisso just can't compete with them at present, their experienced player with an outstanding record in Serie A. But his time will come. He must make sure to train hard so he will impress when he'll have a chance.

I think far too many people underestimate the importance of Marco Materazzi. He's the leading man of our defence. He does the job Blanc used to do for us, he's absolutely confident, and he makes his team-mates confident too.

There is no way Burdisso could be picked before him.

In my ideal 11, the central defenders are Cordoba-Materazzi.

Actually this would be a nice poll, if everyone is available, who would you pick: Matrix/Cafe, Matrix/Cana, Cafe/Canna, Others (any other combination including Miha or Burdisso).

You have a point about height, but Cordoba jumps like he had springs in his boots!

Cannavaro can play with no probs, his injury only means that he feels pain, and he can live with that.

Just look at Roberto Baggio, he retired not because he wasn't good anymore (he scored stunning goals last season, and helped Inter a lot by scoring a double against Lazio with his Brescia), but because he was simply fed up with the pain.

I´ve also seen him in Italian NT. And I have seen enough! Unless he agrees to hold that 3 month break I we can IMO only use him behind Cordoba, Materazzi, Adani and Burdisso.

And Frisko, how come he was one of the best defenders before he came to Inter? And he became worse when he got that Tibia problem? Because it is that stupid Tibia´s fault!

Gismo, I think V D Meyde has a lot of potential, and he could be a key player for us, when I just don't think Cesar would ever be that. I much rather keep Kily, and play him and Recoba on the left.

About Canna, you obviously have a very bad opinion of him, because of this tibia thing, and also for personal reasons (he likes Napoli and so on).

So you just rate his performances in a very strict way.

I don't think he's been playing as well as he could have. He used to be considered as strong as Nesta, and at this moment he's not even near Nesta. But we'll see what happens next season...
