Monday, 28 August 2006 09:50:30
POGGIO DEGLI ULIVI (PESCARA) - Inter Primavera beat Ascoli 3-2 on Sunday to win the pre-season De Cecco Tournament. Ex-PSV midfielder Ibrahim Maroufi, born in Morocco but with a Belgian passport, gave Vincenzo Esposito's boys the lead with a fantastic long-range effort. French striker Jonathan Ludovic Begora and Hungarian midfielder Attila Filkor, who joined Inter from Maltese side Peita Hotspurs last week, scored the others.
Inter are the second team to win the De Cecco Tournament, now in its third edition, after Juventus triumphs in 2004 and 2005. Esposito's Nerazzurri collected 5 victories, including a penalties win against Juve in the semi-finals, scoring 13 goals and conceding 5. Begora was named best player of the tournament.
