Lampard is surely not overrated. Don't let the mega Chelsea team fool you, he was good with West Ham.

About his performance against Barca? He was injured and there was doubt he'd even start the game.

Him or Gerard? Gerard anyday. He is a bit more all-rounded and his shots and long passes are better.

LOL Helal, I couldn't let you sneak 'Alonso's Veorn-like long passes!' It should be the other way around, or more accurately, 'Veron's sometimes Alonso-like long passes.'

Alex, great suggestion. Alonso for Veron sounds kind of realisitc, although Alonso can't dribble well. But if we are talking about Veron, he can replace him. And we will get an extra with Alonso: defence!

Finally I have a Xabi Alonso supporter in Mahdi. ;) I've watched Liverpool a lot this season and he is definitely as important as Gerrard and Carragher are to Liverpool. Fantastic pass, great vision and I completely disagree that he's poor defensively. Of course I can't give you facts and stats to argue about that though. But anyway, if he comes to Inter, Cambiasso can do the dirty work for him.

I personally think that he's the perfect replacement for Veron but since we already have David Pizarro, I'd trust the Chilean. :) But if D.Pizarro is indeed frustrated at Inter and wants to leave at the summer... Gimme Xabi Alonso anyday of the week, twice on Sundays.

Hand;)yo

Edit: Ooo, Hamed too. :D Hamed, I'll say it more explicitly than you did...Xabi Alonso >>> Juan Sebastian Veron

Han, I am a fan of Xabi too, since his days with Sociedad. He almost took them to a La Liga title. Mehdi thinks Camacho is a legend, because Camacho didn't want Xabi, he was virtually within Reals' grasp!

He must leave the EPL because it's too fast for him at times. Alex has started a spark now, Alonso for Veron sounds great. (I gave up on Mancini trusting Pizarro, and I would like to use Pizarro to get a bigger fish in Amantino Mancini!)

Well, you got some bias against Liverpool ;)

But trust me, if you saw him with Sociedad, you'd know he can be better. Some players just can't handle the quickness and pace of EPL but he is doing well.

Top 10 best DMs in the world? Where's Cuchu?

PS Is he still too young and not established enough? He scored a fair amount of goals this season for a DM.

True..Xabi would have helped them a lot filling the missing DM place.

Further, he is the best passer at Pool. I think he has about 90% completed passes or something, an unbelievable number.

I would sign him on any day, but the thing is that spanish players and italian football never got along.

Btw, is it Mehdi or Mahdi? :embarass: Sorry, I can't remember. :(

Hmmm, I don't think so. As I've said, I think he's doing well in Liverpool. Whether he's playing to his full potential is arguable but he, alongside Stevie G & Carragher are the 3 most important Liverpool player and since Pool aren't exactly a "selling" club, Rafa won't sell him.

My passport says "Mahdi" because there are a lot of Mehdi's but only a few Mahdi's.

But my Iranian friends in general call me Mehdi, only inside my family they call me Mahdi, because my parents have told everyone that I'm not Mehdi but Mahdi.

I personally don't really care though :)
