INTER TO 200 (MILLION)

Conte will also have Dzeko and it doesn’t end there.
This is the most expensive shopping campaign ever to satisfy the coach.
If Icardi, Perisic and another non-essentials leave, there will be room for one final signing in the midfield.

PLENTY FOR CONTE

Inter, this is your most expensive transfer market window ever.
With Dzeko, it’ll reach almost €200M spent. What an economic force to challenge Juve.
With the Bosnian, the coach will have the attack that he has been asking for from the start.
Another midfield signing is possible.

The distances were so wide that covering them at normal speed could mean arriving late, again. We needed the turbo, we needed to go 200 miles per hour on track of course because you cannot escape UEFA Financial Fair Play. Thanks to the funds from China, Inter got a new engine and they also added the much needed turbo: last season, Juventus had 21-point lead but as of today, August 10, Inter are closer. How much closer we will see in the coming months, but Zhang and Marotta have accelerated the process over the last few weeks primarily by putting Antonio Conte at the helm and then supporting him with a market that is approaching €200M.

Transfer market of record - Seventy-five million for one player, Inter had never done that before but neither is there a precedent for a €194.5M shopping campaign. Even without the €22M that Roma are asking for Dzeko, we are already beyond records, even counting the Moratti era. This is the most generous transfer window in the history of Inter. Of course, the prices of the players in recent times have exploded but the acceleration on the part of Suning is loud and clear. Not only the Chinese have spent more than Juventus, but also more than any Premier League team (the closest are the two Manchester clubs at around €160M) and therefore Europe, with the exception of three Spanish teams. Real Madrid, Barcelona and this year Atletico Madrid (thanks to the monstrous sale of Griezmann) are out of the category but with this summer at 200 miles per hour (€200M spent), Inter are approaching the biggest clubs in Europe.

Expenses for change - The ending of last season convinced ownership of the need for a more radical change than expected from planned growth. The first step was to spend €11M net (added to what was also Spalletti’s wages) for Antonio Conte. From there, the virtuous circle that Moratta desired in his first “complete” year was triggered. To please the coach and supply him the weapons to go into battle, here is another €21M for wingback Lazaro, €72M to revamp its midfield with Sensi and Barella (plus €4.5M for the investment of the future in Agoume), up to €75M for the Belgian giant that will be the focal point of the attack. That’s €175M on planned expenses: many of these cases could be even higher due to various reasons (obligatory loans) and linked to achievements of team and personal objectives. The club had to find ways to overcome the limits imposed by the rules of FFP and the philosophy of self-financing that remains the guideline (long-term) of Suning. Also because facing incoming investments, Inter needed to sell Pinamonti, Karamoh, Puscas and Vanheusden, plus minor deals for capital gains.

All signings so far:

Godin - 0
Lazaro - €21M
Sensi - €27M
Barella - €45M
Lukaku - €75M
Agoume - €4.5M
Dzeko - Roma are asking €22M

Final piece - The most expensive shopping campaign has become a real revolution for Inter which will continue to look out for opportunities until the very last day of the window (September 2nd). Possible that in those final days, if the club manages to sell the non-essentials, there could be another addition in the midfield. Let’s not forget Edin Dzeko: with him, Inter will have 6 new starters out of 11. For the Bosnian striker, Petrachi’s request has risen to €20M plus €2M in bonuses, Inter will take a breather this weekend after the final sprint to close for Lukaku. But the start of next week will be like the deadline to try and close everything. The request of €20M can do down if a pleasant counterpart is included in the deal (Roma’s favorite has always been Esposito). Edin has waited longer than he expected and wanted, while Conte is pushing for Inter to hurry. Roma themselves are almost at the moment where finding a replacement will become complicated. A positive conclusion of this deal must arrive by Ferragosto (August 15th). Things will get a lot more complicated later.

Agoume should go on loan or to the primavera. I don't think he'll feature for the first team whatsoever.

I'm very impatiently waiting for news of Valero and Mario's exits.

Valero could go to fiorentina if we pay for it, lets face it, nobody wants Mario

Valero can go to Fiorentina if we accept the <2m offer they made us 4 times already.

How on earth can you let Miranda go to Suning on a 3m capital loss but you won't let Valero go for 800k capital loss I don't get it.
