I'm neither a Shaqiri fanboy or a hater, that was some amazing skill with the ball, and it's the kind of thing I'd always enjoy watching when it's not my team playing, simply because from a non aesthetic point view it's a lost chance that could've been used better was it simpler played(assuming he didn't win a freekick). Players with such skills are a thrill to watch until the point where their skills aren't adding that much to the score sheet anymore.

My point, really, was that the video, clearly intended to make Shaqiri look cool, doesnt really reflect the underlying circumstances. It's like a Quaresma video.

Naw I gotta agree with Browha here, if they wanted it to just show his skill they would have used the word skill. Instead they used the word "toy", which insiuates he's such a great player and in such control that he can toy with Blind. But in all actuality he was subbed off early for being ineffective, like he was in that clip.

Maybe its just me,b ut the way its set up makes it look like he's playing like a god and so well that he can afford to be complacent against Blind

I dont find anything about it particularly skillful, its just a man trying to ineffectually beat his man, and the rest of his team are so bored of it they're all stood still (watch the background) and not doing anything to help.

Motherfucker should learn to pass, but I guess thats not news to any of us

I've watched the game and Shaqiri was nothing special - absolutely average. This situation of the game was nice for watching, but the final benefit for the team was zero.
