I'm excited for this game. We'll be competing for the second place directly with Napoli, and if we win, which I'm quite hopeful we will, we can continue to aim for the Scudetto. It will be a hard and dramatic game. Our team should give it all.

I am sorry, maybe you are very good at fantasy football, but in the real world, we would probably get clobbered with that line up. Our 4 attacking players will see very little of the ball, Napoli will easily retain possession with hardly anyone to win balls for us in the middle of the park... And that defense should not be much of a problem for Napoli to dissect, if they have good possession and little resistance in the midfield.

imo youre getting wayyyyyyyyyy too abstract. how do you know which player will have more of the ball? our shitty midfield played with 1 less midfielder than juve, and yet we still dominated possession.

the best thing to play is 3-4-3. this formation doesnt work against smaller teams, because it is not a possession formation. it is a counterattacking formation.

against small teams we couldnt play counterattack, but againt napoli we definitely can so 3-4-3 would be a good choice. or 7-3 if you like.

We had 49% possession against Juve. Much higher than I thought it was going to be originally. Part of the reason for those "high" numbers is the goal in the first minute for them which resulted in them sitting back, which was extremely strange to me considering how very mediocre our players are when pressure is applied to them.

Napoli will be tough as expected. Don't wanna see any part of Silvestre. Not against one of the best forwards in the world. Play a back four Strama.

J.Zanetti--A.Rannocchia--J.Jesus--Y.Nagatomo
---------------E.Cambiasso---------------
-----W. Gargano---------F.Guarin---------
---------------W. Sneijder------------
---------A.Cassano--------------------

Alvarez and Coutinho could come in handy in the 2nd half as they are far better impact subs then starters...Wes to start so we can actually have someone to demand the ball..Guarin and Gargano as box to box midfielders...Rano and Juan need to start developing their partnership at the back as I dont see the 3 man defense staying around for long, at least not with our recent performances.

This will be a helluva game. Kinda worrying situation to not have Wally available for this one, but then again Cassano is back and we look much more competitive with him.

FORZA INTER!!

Its not abstract mate, its common sense. If we play all 4 of Cassano, Milito, Palacio, and Coutinho and just 2 midfielders as that post was suggesting, it is very realistic that our midfield will be over-run, and we may not be able to service our 4 attacking players. None of those 4 attacking players are great tracking back and recovering the ball, so who will win the balls for us? It is entirely possible that in such a scenario, we will end up with 6 defenders and 4 strikers, which may makes things easy for Napoli when they have the ball.

The way to beat Napoli IMO is to dominate their midfield and break their play. Our counter attack strategy, with a few extra legs in the midfield is our best hope IMO.

I know I will be atacked for this by many but I would play Zanetti in the middle. He's still better midlefieler from Gargano and to be honest Nagatomo is very good in atacking department, much better from Javier.

Just my two cents.

I don't disagree. I hope to Christ Strama goes for a 4 back system with a Ranocchia & Juan CB combo but I'd prefer Naga on the right and pereira deserves more time as LB. Hard choice.

lol yeaaaaaaaaaaaa that was kind of my point 3-4-3 is a counterattacking formation, yet somehow we still kept a lot of possession against juve. my point was that he was getting too abstract saying well have this much of possession, theyll have that much, which you can never predict.

the best bet would be to play 3-4-3 and lie deep, and concede possession on purpose so we can c attack

Since our center midfielders can't creat shit anyway, then why not try 4-2-3-1 when Samuel is out? Cambiasso and Zanetti as the holding midfielders.

D.Milito
Coutinho - A.Cassano - R.Palacio
E.Cambiasso - J.Zanetti
Á.Pereira - Juan - A.Ranocchia - Y.Nagatomo
S.Handanović
