I don't know why people are freaking out. It's obvious to me he will start against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, which is good experience for a youngster. It was smart to start Kuzmanovic over him today, because Kuz can't play EL. If I'm not mistaken Deki is also not on the EL list. Simple rotation.

I don't remember SES getting anymore consistent minutes last year at Milan when he was 18. Let the kid grow into the team.

It means, now, he hasnt played football for 10 days. That clearly cant be beneficial for his development.

I really hope Strama is going to use the kid against Spurs. Doesn't make sense to me not to use him in every game.

I love that these two posts do follow each other, because they sum the discussion of Kovacic's absence today. They also display the thoughts about his contribution to the team by the fans.

It's either we don't rush him and give him bench time to know the country and somehow adapt to the league without playing to accommodate the far fetched goal of the 3rd position, or we save him for bigger games which we never did against Milan.

For me it's a matter of keeping his feet on the ground. Remember Santon? Jose took him from just another Primavera player into a guy who won his first Italian NT cap in like 6 months and then after things went downhill, and the main reason for that was the expectations and how it affected mentally. Instead of viewing him as just a kid playing the fans started viewing him as the new Facchetti, Inter's Maldini.. And as soon as his performances went downhill he was dropped, loaned off and sold. The same nearly happened to Alvare.. we need to chill and stp demanding that the kid play every game just because we spent 15 million euros on him.

He will play when the time comes, and that time is soon. We just need to be patient.
