Next year mbaye instead of nagatomo. Today was Guarin "the fucker" again. Kovacic is much better. And Taider needs more play time. Fuck.. and now we are make a new contract with Guarin for another 100 years of shooting from the moon

I was really impressed by Rolando, Rano and Cuchu. Those three were by far our best players. On the other hand Icardi wasn't involved in this game at all. He seems so clumsy tonight. :depress:

M'baye instead of Nagatomo? Try M'Baye instead of Jonathan, or better yet still on loan. Lets not forget last week he gifted Napoli a penalty. Also, he is a more defensive wingback, and right footed. Him playing at RWB would give the team more balance while Nagatomo bombs forward.

Mbaye is still very raw. Especially defensively. I don't think he's ready to play here

Some observations of mine from today's game:

Uppers:

-Ranocchia looked very sharp, surprisingly, given his lack of opportunities.
-Cuchu rolled back the years with a great game on both ends
-Nagatomo played like a beast
-Those few moments when Kovacic and Hernanes linked up were the most entertaining moments of the season.
-Guarin's tenacity and out-of-nowhere movements
-Kuzmanovic' absence

Downers:
-Jonathan's final ball
-Guarin's knack for looking world class, and the next moment, looking clueless and void of talent.
-Kuzmanovic was still called-up
-Still scoring goals from half-chances. We are not able to press offensively or get opponent's backs to the wall for a significant period of time.
-Broadcast on Rai International

Positives:
3 points and a chance to close gaps on la Viola and Napoli
Rolando bossing in yet another role
Frog and Camps showing they're ready when called on
Balanced performance from Chuchu and nice assist
Inter mostly controlled the game, showed patience in build up
Kovacic showed great flashes next to Hernanes

Cons:
Guarin was too much Mr Hyde, not enough Dr. Jekyl
Attack was stale, strikers were poor
Apart from the goal, Palacio was brutal
Not Hernanes' best game, altho still one of our best today
Could have easily drawn, but deserved the win

- - - Updated - - -

Bottom line: another clean sheet and another win. I'll take it, even if it's not pretty.

Regarding the constant FIF complainers: We're in need of 3 points every game, and every game you manage to come here and bitch about how we are not "entertaining". Stop listening to Nirvana; grunge is dead. Today we dominated and had a good game. Our goal is not to entertain, but to get points from the remaining games.

Positives to take into consideration:
Cambiasso was solid as DM. Great reading the game, great winning the ball, great assist.
Guarin here and there, but not consistently, showed some good stuff. The fans applauding him when he came off will add more to his motivation. He's a good player and we'll need him.
Frog - I thought he'd be cranky considering the lack of appearances; proved me and everyone else wrong.
Palacio - supergoal! I'm mostly happy he put an end to his lack of goals.
Nagatomo - great game today.
Hernanes - It's no coincidence we haven't lost a game with him on the pitch since he came.

Negatives:

Icardi - I hope you can see now why Mazzarri doesn't want to start him. Absolutely invisible; like playing with a man less.
Jonathan - He's back to being his usual below average calibre.

First half Torino had withdrawn into their half completely. After the goal, they opened up and Kovacic was a right decision due to his quickness and link up with Hernanes. I thought the Andreolli sub was a waste, but I'm not in the bench to see what's going on. Maybe Campagnaro was tired? Taider came too late, but I believe Mazzarri was dubious whether to put Botta in or not, and try to close the game, since Icardi wasn't cutting it. Such choice was not made, so Taider comes on very late to defend the lead. Pointless sub imo, just for the sake of it, as it was very late. It could be justified by Andreolli's (forced?) entry.

To sum it up: convincing display, three points, and some rested players for Verona away next week. It's starting to look good.

3-0-0 in matches he's started.

Mediocre game imo. Not as bad as some say, but still need to be much better. Especially with those players who are very underrated.

Loved to see Rano playing well too. I really hope he stays. Rano, Rolando, Vidic, Juan, Campa. More than good enough, id even dare to say great.

Rolando MOTM for me, closely followed by Cambi. Naga, Rano, Handa did well too. Guaro, Campa, Icardi and Jonathan i didn't like at all.

Don't be so anal about this.
*gets incredibly anal*

Mazzarri thinks fans' scepticism to blame --> scepticism still exists --> so Mazzarri thinks fans are still to blame

Cool theorem bro! :)yao: #FIFLogic) Such a stretch! Fact is, he mentioned the fans in one interview, hasn’t mentioned it since, and you come up with this Mickey Mouse proof so you have an excuse for you and your anti-Mazzarri cult to keep bringing it up every week.

You’ve completely taken this out of context and missed the bigger picture. If you’ll recall, these quotes came in the direct aftermath of the the Vucinic-Guarin swap saga. There were massive protests staged before the Catania match. This is less about fans being icy and more about them trying to create a revolution in the club. It was a major issue that HAD to be acknowledged. Mazzarri was not the only one discussing this…

Anyhow, since the firing of Branca, the Hernanes transfer, and the run of terrible results coming to an end, a lot of the skepticism has died down, and the atmosphere has imrpoved. Guarin even got cheered today as he exited.

I really don’t know how many more times you guys wanna keep making this joke about Mazzarri blaming the fans, but IMO it’s totally played out.

Intellectual honesty my ass. You chose not to show this quote.

I didn’t show any quote, at all, so you can’t really accuse me of being selective.

I'm sick as fuck but I managed to see the whole match.I don't want to comment how I saw the game but we won and that is more important these days.

I'm also here to congratulate Rolando for being a total beast in defence.

also Inter's birthday is today...on of the better things in my life even if we are not winning that much.

over and out for now...

I surprisingly fell asleep in the second half, so I can't really comment on the game as a whole until I watch the second half later today. Although, I really don't want to put myself through that, so I probably won't comment on the game as a whole.

How about applying some logic instead of twisting shit around so Mazzarri doesn't look bad. I've provided you with a reason why Mazzarri would still hold his claims, you just come back with an ad hominem attack. Who's talking about accountability and intellectual honesty now? I'm perfectly fine with people arguing opposing points of view, but your inability to come up with anything other than 'u just hate mazzarri!!1!' is pretty pathetic.

And let's think about this some more – has Mazzarri given any indication that he's changed his mind? Mazzarri, like any human being, doesn't mention every single thing that runs through is mind in every single interview.

We assume JZ loves Inter, even if he doesn't mention it in every interview. We assume JJ is Kova's best friend, even if he doesn't mention it in every interview. Why is this any different?

lol.....Mazzarri made two separate sets of comments, one about the general atmosphere of fans and one about the Vucinic-Guarin swap. In the interview, he mentions Alvarez and Jonathan as two players who can't deal with the pressure. What did Alvarez and Jonathan have to do with Vucinic-Guarin? Absolutely nothing, you're just conflating two different issues.

And there's a difference between addressing an issue and outright blaming the fans for poor results.

Ffs......Look beyond the results. The problem isn't the results. The problem is we play like shit. By the laws of probability and by virtue of having a comparatively decent squad we'll pick up wins here and there, but it's no different than when we won 10 games under Strama but were completely dependant on individual brilliance. It's not sustainable, and it's not a solution.

I didn’t show any quote, at all, so you can’t really accuse me of being selective.

You implied that Mazzarri's 'protest after the game' comment was all that he had said, which was obviously not true. So same difference. Either you posted without knowing the entire situation and all of Mazzarri's comments, or you deliberately chose not to reveal the rest of Mazzarri's words. Either way, it's a bit ironic coming from the guy pleading for accountability and intellectual honesty.

Did you forget to read my whole post?

Mazzarri given any indication that he's changed his mind?
Considering we're playing better at home and the atmosphere has improved, I'd say there's a good chance he's gotten over this issue. You should try it, too.

We assume JZ loves Inter, even if he doesn't mention it in every interview. We assume JJ is Kova's best friend, even if he doesn't mention it in every interview. Why is this any different?
I don't understand this argument at all. Usually a pattern is established after a behavior occurs more than once. WM only "blamed the fans" once, after a curva protest, so I'm not sure your analogies are on point here.

lol.....Mazzarri made two separate sets of comments, one about the general atmosphere of fans and one about the Vucinic-Guarin swap. In the interview, he mentions Alvarez and Jonathan as two players who can't deal with the pressure. What did Alvarez and Jonathan have to do with Vucinic-Guarin? Absolutely nothing, you're just conflating two different issues.

The protests were related to the mismanagement of that transfer, and he cited those two relatively inexperienced players as guys that might have difficulty in a hostile home environment. You really think those are "two different issues"? Cmon brah.

And there's a difference between addressing an issue and outright blaming the fans for poor results.

Again, you're talking about results (plural), despite the fact that he only mentioned the atmosphere after a single match. In the 6 weeks leading up to match we drew Chievo at home and beat Milan at home. So which results exactly was he "blaming on the fans"?

You implied that Mazzarri's 'protest after the game' comment was all that he had said, which was obviously not true. So same difference. Either you posted without knowing the entire situation and all of Mazzarri's comments, or you deliberately chose not to reveal the rest of Mazzarri's words. Either way, it's a bit ironic coming from the guy pleading for accountability and intellectual honesty.

So he said 'we may very well play better on the road'... that quote doesn't change anything, in my mind. Just an ironic way of making the same point. Perhaps overstating his case, a bit, but I guess we're all guilty of that, from time to time, eh? ;)

Well, we are playing better at home, but that's not the issue, is it? And the atmosphere at San Siro has gotten better, but that's not the issue either, is it? Wait... what was the issue again?

And let's think about this some more – has Mazzarri given any indication that he's changed his mind? Mazzarri, like any human being, doesn't mention every single thing that runs through is mind in every single interview.

If he isn't saying it to the press, who gives a shit what he thinks? You worried he's losing sleep at night because he's pissed at the fans for booing the squad? Or you think he goes into the locker room at half time and apologizes to the team for the poor atmosphere?

He gave one interview where he called out the fans for not doing their part. He hasn't mentioned it since. It's over. Part of Inter's storied history. Time for everyone to move on.
