Anyways, goodbye Mr. Poldi, happy return to Arsenal.

Don't forget #strassenkicker.

I'll miss Poldi, mostly because he just seems like a really nice guy. Hope he gets back into the Arsenal squad.

Frankly I didn't expect him to make it: not enough time to adapt to the most difficult/tactical league in the world. I enjoyed his good technique, but Serie A is more than fine strikes.

Tomorrow 4th of June he turnes 30, so happy birthday and good luck!

I think he didn't impress because Mancini was playing him as a winger. He was always dangerous when he picked the ball near the box as opposed to picking it in the midfield and trying to dribble through.

Yeah he probably should have got a few more opportunities next to Icardi as a SS, but palacio was simply better than him.

No! stop making excuses for him!

Everyone kept talking about his rocket left foot shot but we didn't see any! all his shots were shit! It has nothing iwth him playing as a winger or a forward or whatever. He just simply forgot how to shoot!

I'm not making excuses. There's a big difference between playing as a winger and as a striker. Try playing Icardi as a striker and we'll see.

I don't understand why people think that players need time to adapt to Serie A. None of our players needed time to adapt. They either stunk, or were good from the beginning.

Players like Valero, Hernanes, Salah, Kovacic, Higuain (just from the top of my head) all did very well in their first season in Serie A.

Well I hope for Shaqiri's sake he's just adapting.

Also I remember it taking Eto'o a year to show his best abilities in Serie A. Tevez also was much stronger this year than last year IMO.

Most tactical league. what the fuck does that even mean?

Why didn't Mourinho change his tactics when coming Serie A? How is Serie A so magically superior in tactics that they spew that bullshit all the time? Don't get fooled. Players and managers in Ligue 1 also say that it's the most tactical league ever. Same with La Liga. :awyeah:

Yo, thatdude, Eto'o was utilized differently under Mourinho than he did the next season. It is known. He was awesome in both seasons.

Mourinho did change his tactical ideas. He wanted a 4-3-3 remember? He was forced to change back to 4-3-1-2 until the 2nd year when we started playing 4-2-3-1, but that was primarily in CL.

As for Eto'o, he was utilized on the right side by Mourinho and on the left side the following year, which obviously allowed him to cut in more. But I remember his first season being underwhelming from a personal perspective. I remember many thinking he was overrated/overpaid and quite possibly on the decline.

I think we can all agree that pacey players have a hard time in Serie A in comparison to other leagues. The reason for that is Italian teams are trained to limit the space for the opposing team.
Defences (and even the whole team) are just more organized and put more emphasis on positioning than other leagues.

But that doesn't make other leagues any less tactical. Their tactics and strategies are just different.

@Thatdude, yo.

Oh shit, I did fuck up, 08/09 he did want to play 4-3-3. But he still won Serie A that season, while he failed in CL.

Then he changed the formation, won the Serie A again and also the CL. Had less to do with Serie A and more to do with CL, I'd say.

Ionno. Gervinho and Salah are utilized good and they are important for their teams (or with Gervinho, he was).

Sorry for being a grammar nazi but I love how half of native English speakers, both US and UK, are making idiotic mistakes but then, simultaneously, never miss an opportunity to have a good laugh about other people's accents and grammar. I'm making a generalisation, not exclusively pointed at you, but you should all deeply appreciate that half of the world is trying to speak your god damn language and I mean really appreciate it, cause learning new languages isn't easy at all for most people. Sadly native speakers have no idea, cause they never had to learn even two words in a different language to be able to communicate. I mean, I even find it offensive that they aren't even trying most of the time when in a foreign country.
