This still puts us in the running with 8 games to go. And Roma is going to stumble as they always do. Just have to make sure we take advantage of their slip ups.

But we don't take advantage. We just fucking don't and that's it.

Like every week mancini is shit bla bla bla of course

I think: Eder was shit today. It was his first game where i really need to say that. If we had Icardi or Palacio, Inter had a better chance tbh. Eder was a ghost, he was too much defensive, never really tryed to do something. It was like playing without a foward.. then we also dont had good bench players. Mancini was forced to play with Biabiany. I like him but when was the last time he played more then 45. minutes? Still better than Eder, even if he was pretty bad. But like i said, he never played so much.

Said this - Winning with that forward and without Kondo, Icardi, Palacio and Jovetic.. well, thats too much. A draw is ok!

Guys give eder some time he is still adapting, he is working hard and I see him good espically that match against juventus in the coppa, until his touches become like falcao or dzeko we shouldn't worry much because eder like perisic will shine in the upcoming matches, just more time is needed and that goal will come. That said I dnt think eder is the type of forward that can play alone he needs to be with someone upfront.

Sorry guys, I still believe it's Mancini's attacking scheme that need to be improved.

We can see how Icardi struggle a lot with playing as lone striker, now it's the same thing with Eder.

We cant always blame our strikers all the time.

The late goal was unfortunate and how I do agree with most that defending a 1-0 for 20-25 minutes of the game is just plain stupid, we should realise that this is a fairly good result for Inter. Let's remind ourselves that Roma were unbeaten and running a decent win streak before this game. Also that this was an away game. Putting those two factors into this game, AND that we have only had results go our way just recently AND our injury woes. This is a good result.

Now the idea of Mancini defending 1-0 leads, that's another story. I mean look how many games we attempted this and lost points. If anyone knows how many times this has happened I'd like to hear it.

We have a huge problem in our buildup and I think its because we lack that type of player that can move the ball forward or even control the tempo the only person we have with such characteristics is brozovic (medel, melo and kondogbia just keep passing backwards)and he can't control the tempo. We really should have gotten bangea in the winter he would have helped us alot alteast in the creative side 5m was not much it would help our counter attack tremendously with beast perisic.

The positive: from the beginning of the match, the side displayed the attitude that this was a must-win match. The approached it in a manner which was very pleasing to see and did well to defend and score the goal.

The negative: everything else that happened after the goal. The pieces of shit were walking around as if the objective was accomplished the moment we scored. They acted as if it was the 93rd minute for the last 20 minutes of the match and it was disgusting to watch to be honest. I don't know whether the blame lies with the players or Mancini, but either way, the attitude the team adopted after scoring was utterly pathetic. It lead to us conceding and a result which doesn't help us at all.

For me the positive was really good to see, but the negative aspect just leaves a really sour taste. With 8 games to go, and 3rd place potentially up for grabs, you can not switch off like that.

I have to admit that Mancini's approach to the game was very good. Our defense totally outplayed their attacking trio EL Sha- Perotti - Salah. Their overhyped midfield wasn't working good as well. We had problems in creating but this is almost every game. Our counter-attacks were not bad although Eder was quite invisible.
But the early defending of fragile lead was very stupid decision tho.

Think it took mancio too long to make those subs bit considering that our only viable option on the bench was Melo, I understand.

If Icardi played in this match 2:0... Eder is just a waste a money and time! :( He cant play as ST, another key moment is Mancini wrong subs - Melo must get in for Eder in 80m and Juan for Biabiany later, stupid subs by Mancini... even Barca chance something when they have the best 11 all over the world another lesson for Mancini!

edit: Nagatomo, Handanovic, Perisic, Miranda and Murillo made perfect match.... Dambrosio and Brozovic - fail again, Ljajic can made better desiscion in key momenets, Eder is awful....

Everyone can see how lucky the ball goes to Naingolan, Dzeko "try" to shooot and made FAKE assist, luck is no our partner in 2016....

Mancini to IC: “A draw is maybe fair given the chances they had”

Roberto Mancini spoke to Inter Channel as well after the draw at the Stadio Olimpico: “I’m not too satisfied with having conceded a goal this late in the match but it remains a good performance. We should have scored 2-0. The boys suffered in the last 20 minutes when Dzeko came on, however allis left to play for. You can’t say who I missed the most of those who were missing, it would be wrong to those who played, with one more attacking player maybe we could have done something more, but we conducted the match well and now we focus on the last 8 matches. It all depends on us now, if we win a few games in a row we can recover many points. Roma threw everything forward to equalize, we could have doubled ur lead in some chances but in the end a draw is maybe fair given the chances they had.”

Mancini’s press conference: “Everything is still open”

Inter and Roma drew the match that according to many experts could have decided the race for the third place which qualifies for Champions League, but tonight’s result means that the gap between the two teams remains the same. With the help of fcinternews.it we are able to bring you coach Roberto Mancini’s comments from the post-game press conference.

Inter set up the game in the right way: is there disappointment for the final result?
“Our match was excellent. We defended well and attacked them as well. Then we fell back too much in the end and Dzeko put us in a bit of difficulty.”

What do you bring from this match?
“Everything is still open and we can still reach the third place.”

In the last few games it seems that, on a psychological level, something has changed, what has kicked off in the player’s head?
“We did well, but when we leave the pithc after the game it seems that opponents always have done better than us… We are still in the race for the Champions League.”

How did the idea to make Biabiany a starter come from? Was your answer yesterday (“a weapon to bring in during the game,”) pre-tactical or decided after the knockout of Kondogbia?
“I decided days ago to play him as a starter together with Perisic, Ljajic and Eder. Kondogbia was not well and had not trained well in a few days, we preferred not to risk him.”

Can you shed some light on the incident with the referee?
“I don’t know what to say, really. I’ve never talked to Orsato and don’t know what he said to the fourth referee. I was just talking to Ljajic.”

Mancini to Rai: “We conceded a goal, but we played a great match”

Roberto Mancini spoke with RAI Sport analyzing the draw against Roma: “For 70 minutes we were better than Roma, then when Dzeko came on we found ourselves in difficulties when they played long balls. When we were just about to make a change we had to bring Biabiany off and then we conceded a goal, but we played a great match. Dzeko? His shot became a pass for Nainggolan but Roma had two chances earlier so they deserved a goal. We could have scored 0-2 but the draw is good. Everything remains in place, we’ll fight for the third spot until the end.”

Mancini then praised Marcelo Brozovic: “He’s young, he’s growing a lot, he will be a champion. Why I didn’t defend the lead? If we’d had all our strikers we would have win the match because I could have made important changes and we would have been stronger in attack. Eder? He was isolated but he worked very well, Perisic’s goal came about thanks to his movement. Ljajic? Good game, he did what he had to do. Third spot? We’re ahead of Roma in direct encounters, there are still 8 matches left and many direct deciding matches left. Thohir happy with 5th spot? Ask Spalletti…we’ll make an assessment of the season at the end of the season. Our objective is the third spot and we’ll continue to believe in it.”

I really think we were the better team overall, which is why I am sad we did not win, but I am not mad, since I expected a bad performance from us.

But how come we cannot keep a clean sheet anymore? We truly have to score at least 2 or we do not win. Winning against Napoli must be our priority.

Mancio's mentality is totally wrong. It cannot challenge the third spot if team's strategy is to score one and than to protect the lead. This is looser's mentality and that way you just can't drive the team to the top.
Thats kind of what Simeone / Atletico Madrid did or do

Dunno if anyone mentioned this but if it comes down to it and roma and us are on the same points and we are 3rd then we qualify for the CL due to head to head

And whats about Brozovic missing a clearly goal? It is the fault of the Players. The players are playing, not Mancini.

I agree that Eder looked like Icardi. But still, there was very good chances for the 2-0. I think we dont have enough creativity. Yeah, now someone will say again "why did Mancini buy Eder not a regista". True, if there was a good regista arround. Soriano isnt.

The two common comments above that I don't agree with at all:

1. "Eder is shit"

Maybe you guys are judging him too quickly? Some players take time to adjust into a new team. Eder has been with us for just a couple of months, give him time. You need to look no further than Perisic to understand this.

2. "Mancini made a mistake to try and defend the lead"

That is silly. We were set up to play counter attack all game, and thats what we did even after taking the lead... its just that Roma got more urgency in their attacking after going behind, which is understandable. In hindsight, Mancini's mistake was the opposite - not trying hard enough to defend that lead. Looking at our bench, we did not have the attacking players to continue playing our formation... IMO Mancini should have made defensive changes after the 80th minute - instead of Manaj, he should have got Juan, Gnoukouri or Melo for Biabiany... it would have been different if we had Icardi, Jovetic or Palacio on the bench. But we didn't. So when our attacking players started tiring out, the more logical thing to do was to replace them with defensive players to try and shut shop. But it was a tough decision to make, the fact that we are completely disagreeing even with the benefit of hindsight proves that.

Overall, I though the team and the coach did well yesterday. Roma were on a 8 game winning run, we stopped that at their home. Almost won the game. Hopefully the team takes more confidence from this performance.
