I think our constant goals that we concede at the end of matches have to do that we invite too much pressure constantly. I do realize that Roma have much more technical players and can dominate us, but we do the same things against the likes of Chievo and Carpi as well.

I think we did well to deal with them overall, but the fact that we have so many players that are uncapable of stringing passes together hurts and makes us suffer in the majority of matches. We should've slowed down the game more, and not retreated back so early.

surprised that people actually feel regretful over the result. obviously i want the win but i'll gladly take the draw. i felt we barely created anything tonight and we were lucky with the goal. i thought we were pretty lucky not to concede more than 1.

also, claiming that we conceded because of an unlucky moment is myopic. that wasn't being unlucky, that was a natural byproduct of having poor defensive organization.

We blew it...3rd.place is distant as ever.
Maybe next season

Nah not next season either. Roma, Napoli & Juve all remain far better than us and actually have funds to improve their squads. We have debts to pay, so don't expect us to get any better than them.

Its the other way around imo.
don't agree but I see why you'd say that.

Interesting how divisive this game was, loads of different opinions on how we played, if Mancini did well tactically, and whether we can see it as a good result or not. Personally feel we needed a win, but also was expecting to lose, so not sure how to feel, rationally - although irrationally im obviously just gutted by the equaliser.

I just saw an interview with Mancini. He seems really happy.

Not sure what people were expecting Mancini to do, we just didn't have the options needed on the bench.
Having said that, I would not have brought on Minaj.

They have Napoli and Torino at home and Genoa and Lazio away, same as us. The fixtures are similar but they're on better form, even when considering we've improved a lot.

Just because Roma's goal was "lucky" it doesn't mean that we were "unlucky" to not win. That goal was always coming, it just happened to happen in a fortuitous way for them.

Eder is useless

Our bench today was absolutely abysmal.

Handa : Played a good game, great saves, not to blame for the goal
D'ambrosio : offensive not that much, but did a good amount of defending
Murillo : Good, won his duels. Could've done more for us against Nainggolan
Miranda : Boss.
Naga : Held his ground against Salah, good game
Medel : one of his better games for us
Bro : awful first half, great second half. Should've scored at least once though
Biabiany : Worked a lot, ran a lot. Nuff said
Ljajic : Great in combination with Perisic and Bro, didn't showcase a lot offensive
Perisic : MOTM, amazing touches, great plays, great goal.
Eder : As useless as an ejection seat on a helicopter.

Subs

Manaj: didn't bring shit except fauls.
Melo:Should've brought in earlier.

Mancio : Well our fighting power was good, he should've subbed off Eder for Melo, to bring some power in the midfield (cover up Nainggolan,..) Anyway 1-1 on Rome isn't that bad, but we deserved more imo.

No, I think that would have made sense if he came on to replace Eder instead.

Imo scoring first is always an advantage, that was a golden chance to create and attack more with least pressure, but we fucked up, instead we went full defensive and our players looked tired. At the end draw is a good result, but we couldve won.

Scoring first does not mean you have the advantage going forward. Higher probabilit we would've won if we were actually a well coached team, than the decision not to attack afte r the goal. We don't have the quality gap against Roma to overcome the disadvantage of having shit coaching going forward. We barely created anything even when we attacked, we don't have the organization to pressure their defense well. On the other hand, Roma created enough to score more which is why this isn't a bad result.

Mancio's mentality is totally wrong. It cannot challenge the third spot if team's strategy is to score one and than to protect the lead. This is looser's mentality and that way you just can't drive the team to the top.

Subbing off Biabiany in the first place was wrong, he was crucial in this game, when he came off we invited them more to attack us from the right side. But I think he was tired and the change was necessary.

Would have taken a draw before the game started but having gotten so far we should have held on for the win...

The most important thing for me was stopping romas winning streak , in the hope that they choke like in the last seasons when there winning streak got interrupted

As for the game we played well if icardi, palacio or jovetic where there maybe we could have pressured alitle more towards the end but that just speculation

And we should stick to the 4-2-3-1
