Cr only had two good games and thomas muller looks shit at the euros. Pogba aint all that either.

So euro form is not that important in the long run.

Best player next to carvalho in Sporting. I think we need William Carvalho more tho.

Either that or that Schelotto guy, we need more fullbacks.

Lets Jiangsu gets Messi and CR and send here on loan too....

i told you JJM we cant get Joao Mario for 25m - 30m - we cant fight with PSG and EPL teams they will get him for 40-50m minimum!

Di Marzio: Sporting wants 60m - his release clause!

l'm following him since Portugal U21. He is a player who can make difference in Serie A. His style suits our league really well.

Renato Sanches s still a raw talent.

CdS - J. Mario, next week new assault
The Corriere dello Sport confirms: Inter are serious about Joao Mario. "Sporting Lisbon like the Nerazzurri Primavera Pedro Delgado (2.5 million). Inter has gone up to 25 million including bonus, but the proposal was rejected. Next week new assault.

Portugal is playing in the final on sunday. That means in hugely inflated portugese market 30+ millions extra on regular player prices. Which means we should stay the fuck away from those clubs.

This. Prices are inflated for everyone. Joao Mario hasn't even showed anything IMPRESSIVE in these games. He has started every game yes, but managed to collect 1 assist and really haven't done anything special.

Really anything over 25m€ is just going with the flow with these inflated Euro prices. Not sure if that 25m€ is too much. Clearly Sporting is going to hold on for Joao Mario if any real big club comes and shows interest. That way they can actually get that big fee. From Inter I don't think they gonna get more than 30m€.

Pjaca > this guy. I'm repeating myself here, but I really think we should push for Pjaca. Just read that Milan have the edge with a 25M plus bonuses offer.

Frankly, haven't watched either of those guys, apart from YouTube and a bit of Euros, but the difference in both was clearly visible in favour of the Croat and by what he does in the Croatian League I can judge that in a year or two he'll be huge, I mean he just nullifies opposition there like it's nothing and if you can do that at 21 you can do it in Serie A in a couple of years. Anyway, I'm not the biggest expert, and again, I haven't seen those guys actually play, but my gut feeling, from all the players we were linked with this summer for the RW position goes with Pjaca. I wasn't even so hyped about Berardi.

- G. Jesus is a Brazilian kid with no prior experience in Europe, at 18 his valuation is 30M+ and he's pretty raw as far as I'm aware, plus we won't be able to use him right away, as in the best case scenario he finishes the Brasileiro and comes in January.

- J. Mario is a starter for the Portugues NT, who's a EU finalist, looks meh in comps, which usually make the player look amazing (just check Alvarez) and he's release clause is like 60M and I guess we won't be able to snatch him for less than half, at least.

- Berardi, well Sassuolo Juve homo-relationship could be suppressed only with a serious overpricing on our part, so yeah, again 30M and even that doesn't guarantee us that both club, player and agent would change their mind.

- Pjaca, well, we have Croats here who are starters and he'll be too; we've done purchases from Dinamo recently, so we should have some decent rapport with their management at least and he's still 25M, or even less. The rumour that he's a Milanista - couldn't care less and I seriously doubt that this is the driving career decision-making strategy professional players employ, then Berardi would've been already wearing the yellow socks :yao:

- Gabbiadini - I won't even bother, a Napoli bench warmer, he's only started 4 matches for them and got subbed another 19 times and they'd again sell him for 25M or more.

- Bernardeschi, same deal as Berardi, club doesn't want to sell and even if they do they'll demand an arm and a leg.

If you are going to judge João Mário for his Euro alone all I can say is that he´s been crap, as everyone can see.

I wrote about him before on some of the Portuguese league threads, when he came back from loan to Sporting as a player to watch, and after that as he started gaining his space on the team.

With this and last season I see him as the 2nd best and most influential player for Sporting only behind Slimani, and yes, I haven´t forgot William Carvalho who seems to have stalled after a meteoric rise when he appeared.

So what can you expect from a player like João Mário, first he´s a hard worker, runs a lot all game all season, I´m not saying he´s fast but he´s a player with great stamina. Second he is very evolved tactically, that allows him to play in pretty much any spot in the midfield as he has been doing for Sporting, he´s not great to play as a CDM though.

In Sporting he played most season as a false RW or if you wish, a more advanced RM, even though he clearly is a player to play in the center midfield, I don´t want to go on about the reasons but the most important I think is that since it was obvious that Carillo wasn´t going to renew for Sporting, and with the market closed, Sporting needed to either play another winger there or put a more reliable player, since they had William, João Mário and Adrien for the center and not that much options for the wings apart from young players Jesus put João Mário on the right with instructions to also evolve diagonally to the center to create more chances.

With that it´s obvious that he´s not and will never been a winger but he had a fantastic season this year, being instrumental for the close race for the title by Sporting, scoring 6 goals and providing several assists for Slimani and Ruiz.

They way I see him is as a mix between an 8 and a 10, which translates to him being able to be good tactically and with a strong work rate as an 8 and also adding to that his strongest abilities that are the last pass and his technique.

The reason why I think he´s having a bad Euro relates with the fact that our midfield is rotating a lot for once, second, he´s playing on the right and third sometimes I don´t think that even the coach knows where to play him because one time he´s telling him to stay close to the line, others says for him to leave the wing and come for the middle.
The players aren´t used to play this way as a 4-4-2 after playing pretty much always as a 4-3-3, only with Fernando Santos and about 1 year ago we started playing like this so the players are still getting used to their roles particularly the one in the midfield because both Ronaldo and Nani love to have space an liberty to move.
