The problem is he didn't even try to beat out Milan's defenders. He almost never tried to play with his back to goal, so any passes to him and easily won by the defender.

Sometimes I just want Icardi to get sold so all haters here would realise they don't know shit about football and beg/cry for management to get him back.

But everything people are saying here is true.

He is a great scorer but there are too many matches where he doesn't touch the ball. He also seems to play only when he feels like it. How is it that he is able to show strength against Juve players but then be totally quiet and non-existent against Milan?

Against Torino he showed amazing strength to hold off the player and score the winning goal, but in some matches he's like a fly. I think it has to do with mentality.

If we sold Icardi and Jovetic was then our main striker I'd pull my hair out.

It's more than just one game though. He was also terrible against Atalanta, Cagliari, and Sampdoria. And that's terrible in the sense of being invisible and not contributing anything.

It's a shame as he had a period of 4 games (more than ever) where he was playing really well, but everything went down the hill with that book just before the Cagliari game.

I don't give a fuck about the fact he had a bad game. I give a damn about the amount of goals we score with him as our main striker.

As for Belotti. I like him, but other than extra physicality he doesn't bring anything particularly interesting to the table. Although, his style is certainly more suitable to be a lone striker than Icardi.

I believe in 2016 Belotti has more goals than Icardi. I may be wrong? Heard that stat last night

3 way tie between Icardi-Dzeko-Belotti with 10 goals.

Good enough to replace Icardi? Please.

What makes you think he isn't? His goal scoring record is improving. He's more involved in general play than Icardi. His passing is slightly better (not crossing). He works far harder off the ball. Physically he is far stronger and gets fouled more often. Personally I've liked him since his Palermo days. He's no world-beater or anything, but in my opinion Icardi isn't either. Many disagree though.

I think looking purely at the goal-scoring record of a striker is too simplistic. I think some strikers score a lot, but their style stops their side from scoring a lot. I think Icardi is this type of striker. Torino for the record is not only killing us in the goal-scoring stats this season, but scored more often than us last season too.

For the record I'm not saying I prefer Belotti to Icardi (I would be tempted, but I don't see Belotti as a sure bet). I just don't think your dismissal of Belotti is fair.

Have you even seen him play at all this season? Do you know that he is on the Italian NT scoring goals as well? He is tied for the league lead with 10 goals scored. He is better than Icardi as a lone striker period because of his physical qualities.

a 19 year old with more talent than Icardi in a shitty league...snapped by Liverpool in 3,2,1 or maybe Arsenal or any sensible club

Icardi is a fucking log most times than not

Well it's 'easier' to score 20 goals in the Eredivisie than it is in Serie A. Could be a fart in the wind or a new Suarez (meaning someone who can become world class later on)

Either way, youngsters don't have it easy at Inter.

doesn't matter where a player plays tbh,you can see it straight away from a couple of touches how good a player is on the ball,if his touch on the ball is soft and the ball follows you smoothly, when you see Icardi...the ball most times just deflects of him like if you hit a trash can :eek:blivious:sorry,it's harsh but it's true...only good thing he possesses is clinical first time shots,if he thinks to much on the ball it usually ends up bad...
