Go on inter.it
look at forwards
5/8 are actual midfielder/wingers

now imagine if Icardi gets injured.
our only options would be palacio and jovetic, both of them SS at best. I'm not even going to mention Eder.

I think Eder would do alright if played as pure striker like his last season at Sampdoria.

Icardi can pass and cross he isn't one dimensional as we make him. His crosses are on point.

He's probably one of our best crossers. Shame his dribbling game isn't that good, otherwise he would've been a complete player.

Agree, think if Icardi got injured Eder would do a decent job up top on his own. Still leaves us with 3/4 Strikers battling for one CF position, and you could throw Barbosa in there too. I think we have enough strikers.

I think Icardi and Eder on top together moving around can cause a lot of havoc, tbh I'm not in love with Icardi as the lone striker because it makes our play too predictable.

Why does it suggest otherwise? I'm not claiming I know either way, but what I do know is that he's a common denominator in our struggling attack.

Because there are statistics saying that banega is amongst the top 3 in creating chances in our league and icardi has the best conversion rate in the league. So either one of this stats is bs or icardi has a lot of shots that miss the goal which i m pretty sure he does not.
So if you belive these stats clearly icardi is not the problem.

Icardi: Inter needed Italian Coach
By Football Italia staff

Mauro Icardi insists Inter “needed an Italian Coach” as “we couldn’t get to work with a foreigner”, in a swipe at former boss Frank de Boer.

Stefano Pioli has since been named De Boer’s successor at Inter, with his first game coming on Saturday against Milan in the first Derby della Madonnina of the season, and Icardi says his teammates “have no excuses” not to perform under the new man in charge.

“I’ve never scored against Milan? Scoring goals against them is my objective,” he said at a Press conference.

“It’s true, I’ve never scored goals against Milan with Inter or Samp, but it’s certainly my objective.

“With the new Coach, us players have no excuses. We have to take responsibility.

“When there’s a new Coach, they want to see everything and we’ve had a great week.

“Now there’s no reason to be angry or unhappy with the Coach. Pioli has given great confidence to us all, now we have to do well on the pitch.

“I said we needed an Italian Coach because we couldn’t get ourselves to work with a foreigner, we wanted an Italian who knew us and the other teams.

“With a new Coach, the atmosphere is already different, you can breathe a different air.

“A derby with a view to the Champions League? I don’t know if it’s the last train.

“It’ll certainly be an important derby in the race for the Champions League, which remains our objective.”

______

What they seem to ignore from the press conference is that most people wasn't getting along with De Boer style, and there was a lot of unhappy people in the locker room

Pioli has helped clear the enviroment, so it's a good thing that before a derby our players are commited 100% on impressing the new coach and trying to find a spot in the starting 11, everyone gets the same chances

ofc some of the mofos hated FdB as he told them what they are,a bunch of turds not capable of good performances and he was the one who had to pay the price not the slackers because it's easier to do so mid season...Icardi said this himself

Efrain, I know you hate De Boer. But saying Pioli has cleared the environment is pure bullshit. Based on what did you say that? Its been 2 weeks and he didnt even play an official game yet and suddenly he cleared the environment?

Its clear from the interview that something happened in the locker room, between the players and the coach, espcially after saying: "now we dont have excuses". Of course he wont mention them more clearly in respect to De Boer.

Of course they don't. Nagatomo and Ranocchia learned to play football, while Eder, Brozo and K-Dog learned about respecting the coach. All of that in two weeks.

Excluding Nagatomo, Eder and Brozovic that were called up by their countries, what you're saying is completely correct. Nagatomo played all 90 minutes against Saudi Arabia, while Eder played 68 minutes against Germany, and Brozovic played from minute 51 for Croatia

Well, based from reports of journalists that follow the team in a daily basis

We will have to wait until sunday and see the reaction our players give, because I'm pretty sure it will be better than the last displays our team had

He is our first starter no doubt, but we can't go on not allowing him to either be subbed or rested just because he has the captain armband.

I know that I'm going to be flamed for the 86th time for this opinion, but I'll say it once again regardless because it's honestly my technical opinion which is lasting for a very long time.

I honestly don't know how players like Icardi and Kondogbia ended up playing for a club like Inter AND valued at a very high market price. I honestly, honestly believe that Medel, at least to his assigned role, is a much better footballer and more useful than both Icardi and Kondogbia. I think these two would do alright at a club like Siena or Bologna, but not Inter.

There's no way that all what Inter's supposedly main striker can do is running around, try to head the ball at every cross without touching it because he's either poorly positioned or too short to head it, falls around when someone touches him and yell at the referee, and mistakenly shoots the air instead of making an easy shot on target. Easy goals from time to time will not fool me into believing that this guy is the best thing next to Crespo or Milito. He's Sampdoria material at the very best. I've seen Nagatomo and D'Ambrosio getting more involved in games more than this useless overrated scrub.

There I've said it. I'm going to sleep now.

And thank you Perisic for doing Icardi's job (and much more) even in your worst day.
