Meh, I think his actual value is something like 60-65. Since they're not in a position where they need to sell, asking 70 isn't that crazy. These 80+ figures I'm seeing though are just ludicrous.

I now found out that Juve paid fucking 70M for De Ligt. OK, im not comparing a defender with a forward. But this kid is only 19 and only played for Ajax. Someone like Lukaku has show more to be worth that money... the mercato is crazy guys. It's always a risk, there is no one that is worth so much money. But tbh., people should stop acting like we are always doing bad transfers based on personal oppinions. Lukaku is not shit. Every transfer is a risk.

Transfer GuruNot commenting on your point re Lukaku, but this is more about the De Ligt example you gave. In some exceptional circumstances you can see a great talent at 19 even if they are playing in the dutch league. I remember when I first saw Ronaldo playing for PSV I instantly knew he was a great talent - not just me, but everyone I knew also thought the same. It was similar (to a lesser extent) when Ibra played for Ajax. Sometimes you just know. De Ligt is one of those. Destined for greatness, and that money is easily justified in todays market. He plays for the Dutch NT since he was 17 (youngest dutch NT player in 80 years) preferred over de Vrij, that should give you an idea of his immense talent/potential. At 17, thats almost unheard of for a defender.
So I don't think you can compare this transfer with Lukaku at all, not in any realistic manner.

This number is just a result of the inflated transfer fees we have seen the last 5 years, along with the demand from various clubs this kid has. Skriniar cost 20M + Caprari at the time and if he is on the market he wouldnt go for less than 70 himself so fees are crazy for everyone.
He is a great prospect and at 19 he has years to develop but i actually think he should have went to Liverpool, they have the best coach there along with him playing with Van Dijk. He probably wants to go the Serie A---> Real / Barca rout.
Maybe ur being sarcastic but i actually prefer that option better, i rate both of them a great deal and i dont want Lukaku anywhere near here. He should focus on working hard and proving himself at Man UTD and with Solskjaer he wont ever have a better manager there to help him. The only proposal i would do for him is a loan + option. Why would you want an obligation if he does bad?

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFIn the rest of my post i said he is a great prospect, i really don't care where he is going nor am i judging him because he is going to Juve. You could be 19 and never develop further or be older and get better every year, age doesn't mean much.
Also a bunch of teams reach semis in both competitions, with young players playing keys roles, doesn't mean the rest of their career end up going well.

10 years of FIFThe fee itself is ridiculous but all thanks to Man United. His asset value was recorded at fucking 84 million (fair value) on his transfer from Everton. Now currently it stands at 70 million after depreciation/amortisation. Fuck these English clubs and their money.
