Shame he didn't get that left-footed curler into the bottom far corner for 4-0.
Wasn't fantastic today IMO. As I said during the match, it's hard to judge the players in such conditions but the others seemed to manage much better and their game seemed less affected by the conditions than Lukaku.
Lukaku wasn't able to really hold up the ball consistently well or dribble or bring others into play - and I attribute that only slightly to the conditions lol.
As always it seems like he's one moment too slow in anticipating the ball. And when he tries to hold the ball up, a defender just manages to sneak in a boot and knock the ball away before he knows what's going on. He also sometimes seems unfit in how he slowly trudges around at times, and takes very long to get back onside. Today wasn't that bad but it wasn't great either.
Ultimately, an effective performance though. And we just have to hope that as time goes on, he will add some further efficiency to his game. Some would argue they all are, but Lukaku seems like a complete confidence striker to me. i.e. his performance levels are strongly related to his confidence. For that reason, and other obvious reasons, I'm glad he grabbed a goal. REALLY need him to start performing in the remaining CL matches.
I know that many will say "stop to talk about Icardi" but i just want to know if you also had same reactions about Icardi. Even Icardi had terrible games and was still scoring 1 or 2 goals. It could be just me but i feel like Lukaku get's still hate even if he's doing something good at the end. While when Icardi made he's goals nobody complained, because it was not important about how he played. Not only in this forum but generelly. Icardi was like Messi for some fans, i don't get it.
I was one of them that still complained about him and everyone was against me. Now everyone is going against Lukaku instead, like he's not a upgrade or at last same good as him.
As you were wishing, we have a striker that is "involved more". When you are involved more, you are expected to do more things. Positive things. Well, let's say that Lukaku's involvement anywhere other than in attack mode outside the area facing the goal or in the box is not really positive and since it is an important aspect of our tactics, it shows a lot. When you compare him to how Alexis Sanchez was playing at pretty much the same role in his cameo appearance this season, you'd see there's a huge difference and that's more of what people are expecting for a record transfer.
Ignoring the Icardi vs Lukaku whatever, don't you recall Joao Mario vs Banega who were both here at the same time and allegedly played the same position? Everyone expected so much from Joao Mario but whatever we got from Banega was considered a plus. This is how the economics of football affect the mood and reactions of fans.
As for what changed now, is the volume of our attacks. We attack more than under Spalletti on average. At the same time, this has made us weaker defensively but we're lucky that in Serie A this has not been exploited as it has in Europe.

So Icardi is allowed to do nothing because he's not that kind of striker that helps the team? Lukaku is doing the same goals and is helping the team too, fact. He needs to improve on some things but i don't think that Icardi would help us more.
This is not true. I only need to watch a Barca game to understand that every league is simliar when it comes to defending. Yesterday i watch leganes (last place in BBVA) that had a lot of good chances against Barca. Italy has also a lot of good teams that can easily fuck us with or without good defence.
Total nonsense. Icardi plays in same uninvolved way at PSG.The problem here is that you think that Icardi didn't do anything but that was because of the way we were set up. He either had to go back and become a midfielder or stay up front to allow the team to move forward which we were already struggling with.
It was a tactical decision, not a quality one. Icardi going back during our own possession meant 0 goals for Inter. That would work if your trequartista was more of a forward than a central midfielder and would instantly run in that hole. But Joao Mario, Brozovic, Banega or Nainggolan couldn't do that. There was no sense in Icardi "getting involved" in the manner you were asking for.

Lukaku on the other hand is hindering our progression moving forward more often than not. He is much better suited drifting out to the right and cutting in with the ball leaving him with three options (pass on the left, pass on the overlap to his right or go for goal) instead of "holding up" the ball and laying it off to the wrong place 8/10 times that kills off our counter attacking momentum.
We can afford to have either forward go back as well since there is two of them, so by staying up front Lautaro in this case is enabling Lukaku to move back and our midfield to open the play. But it's mostly not working when Lukaku gets involved.
What works is when he stays up front and doesn't get as much involved.

Don’t you get tired? 藍

Yes, i did. He barely touches the ball except when scores. Fir example in the last game against Lille, i remembered him only with a tap in goal and nice trickery backhell pass.Thank you for your concern.
Ermm, he does play the same way but I wouldn't call him uninvolved. Did you even watch a single PSG game?
Don't worry, the crowd who can't stop criticizing Lukaku will simply say "Nyers who?... Never heard of him... I mean, wikipedia says he only scored 133 goals in 182 games, that's not even one goal per game...". Etc. etc. etc.
Ignore them, big Rom, and just keep putting the ball in the back of the net.

Let's not turn this to another racial discussion as i think that is not the case here.I thought the above was an excellent post.
I think Lukaku has been great for us. I love how he plays for the team and the fact that he is so selfless. I love how he encourages teammates when passes are overhit or they have made a mistake. I also like how he is so well loved by his coach and teammates and how he has done his upmost to fit in as a Nerazzurro.
Many posters on here that hold Lukaku to a higher standard will not admit it, but the real "problem" for them is that Lukaku is black and will never be good enough. That is why Icardi got away with doing 5/8s of fuck all during games, would score a goal and there were no complaints and yet when it comes to Lukaku, no matter what he does, they always find an additional something to pick on and complain about. Unfortunately, it is a subconscious racial double standard. There is no other explanation for it.
