10 years of FIFDraw is enough to secure 3rd spot (can get us to 2nd too if Lazio fails). Dunno who the fuck wants to finish 3rd? That's 5m€ less prize money than 2nd.
But also 3rd brings 5 m more compared to 4th :work:
I hope Napoli will play against Lazio seriously. If they do like they did previous years (Lazio is horrendous in Napoli) and manage to at least draw against them then even a draw for us would make do for 2nd. I do agree that we cannot play for a draw against Atalanta and get it, we must play for a win.

10 years of FIFThere is a huge financial motivation for Inter to finish the season in second place. La Repubblica explains by highlighting several factors including TV rights money which depends on ranking position at the end of the season.
“The distribution of Serie A television rights is calculated for 15% based on the league final positions. Juventus will collect €23.4M, €19.4M for second place. Third and fourth will collect €16.8M and €14.2M respectively.”
Not just TV rights however, because the final rankings are also important when it comes to Champions League market pool sharing.
“For three-year period between 2018 and 2021, Italian clubs will be given a total of €51.5M to be divided in half based on matches played in European Cup competition (the further you advance, the more you earn) and the other half will be based on their final rankings. Juventus can already count on €10.3M, €7.7M will go to second, €5.1M to third and fourth will receive €2.6M. Therefore, between second and third place, the difference is roughly €5M. It’ll be €10M between second and fourth.”

Transfer GuruApart from the 10m extra (2nd vs 4th), there is also the question of momentum and confidence. If we finish 2nd, we will go into the EL games and next season with more confidence. It makes a big difference, this is a big game.

10 years of FIFAs the stats have shown, empty stadiums means home games have not been an 'advantage'. So the whole "going away to Atalanta" thing doesn't ring the same at all.
That said, it will be a tough game as it should be (2 v 3) and the result is pretty much up-in-the-air. I hope we're on the right side of the result.

10 years of FIFWe should not switch off thinking we can relax after the UCL spot is secured. The 2nd place is a must and not just because of the TV money, but also our fate in the next UCL season.
Ranking 2nd means we will avoid City, Barcelona, or Dortmund.
Ranking 3rd, knowing our luck, means we will be thrown into the group of Madrid, City, and PSV.
It is a very massive difference and I can only imagine we would miss the knock out stage again at the last match and we would have another sweet travel for the glorious EL to Azerbaijan and eastern Russia.

Want to see Skriniar or Godin instead of D'Ambro for this one. Atalanta likes to draw you out of position by playing with a loan striker and sending their attacking mids to run at the defense at will. I'm not so worried about being beat for pace out wide; I'd rather have someone who's more comfortable defending in tight spaces closer to goal. We could always send D'ambrosio in later for utility and that sweet far post header.

This has been explained several times i think. That's not how it works.
2-4 spots are all the same regarding European competitions. What matters is how good one plays in CL/EL.
