Rumour has it Conte mostly sees Kolarov as a Bastoni backup and we're still going to sign another LWB.

Does this mean we will finally give Rano the boot? Being a 40 year old and a 2
Year old :)

Since when is Kolarov a centerback...What year is this? Have we entered some alternate reality?

Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sport: Kolarov has agreed personal terms with Inter for a one-year deal plus option for second season. The Serbian national will leave Roma and will sign his Inter new deal in the coming days until 2021.

Yes, because each player has a limited set of abilities. You can't just play players wherever because you're cheap.

I don't know wtf Roma was doing last season, but you don't build a world class defence using a wingback as a CB. Kolarov is a good wing player that can send in crosses. That's been his role for years.

And now he comes to Inter to back up Bastoni. That's because Conte wants ball playing ability there when Bastoni is not playing.

Our defence hasn’t been world class with 3 CBs last seasons either. Not that uncommon for wing backs to be deployed in the back 3, Conte did it with Azipilicuata at Chelsea. Heck, even Alaba has been a CB for Bayern for the vast majority of the treble winning season.
Kolarovs biggest problem is that he’s just nowhere good enough and also way to fucking old.

According to Pedulla, Inter's offer for Fares is 1.5m loan with option to buy for 7m which turns into an obligation in case of a CL qualification. Lazio are still in pole as SPAL prefer Lazio offer of 8m as it is an immediate purchase. There's still no agreement with Lazio though as SPAL are asking for 10m but the deal could close for 9m.

Have anyone here see him play with Spal? Is he any better than Dilbert, Biraghi...? He had that bad injury before we made the deal permanent last summer.

So Fares would be the cheap ass addition to LWB. I guess I like it more than 15-20m€ (let alone more) transfers to wingback positions. But is he any good?

CdS: Yesterday, there was new contact with SPAL for Mohamed Fares although Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have asked the Biancazzurri for time and not close the deal with Lazio. Inter must finalize some sales (perhaps Dalbert) to collect resources to make an offer. There is also the desire to give SPAL a young player in the U-19 team.

But Lazio remain a serious contender for the Algerian with an agreement reached with Mino Raiola, agent of Fares. The player has also been promised a starting position in the squad of Inzaghi. Their latest offer is €7M plus €2M in bonuses while demand is €10M. SPAL have promised Lazio director Tare an answer within this week.

No, but he is a good addition to our collection... Asamoah, Dalbert, Young, Kolarov, Fares... one of them is bound to work someday :einstein:

Ashley Young has been the best of the lot. At the twilight of his career. Sad. The LB/LWB curse forever haunting us. I’d say just buy Gosens as he plays in the exact same formation at Atalanta, is Serie A experienced and is just entering his prime years. But I guess it wouldn’t be easy to pry him away from a direct rival for cheap.
