Ridiculous conversation. You cannot sell your key players in the middle of August and have a successful season, unless the player is demanding a transfer out.

We do this same song and dance every year. We wait until the end of August to buy players, the players don't have time to be integrated into the team, and we end up looking like garbage up until the first international break (even if we win). It's not a coincidence that we booked Hakimi early and he hit the ground running last year.

Who says the management want a successful season anymore…? 🤣

I don't think it's up to Marotta as he will accept everything above 100mln for Lukaku imo.
The issue is Lukaku himself, as he has rejected Chelsea. If he has accepted, he would have been already gone.

Di Marzio reports Inter has rejected Chelsea's 100m€ + Alonso offer for Lukaku.

He also points out Lukaku's decision will be decisive (of course) if we are going to / want to sell.

edit. Romano points out the offer was around 100m€ including Alonso.

Insulting offer from Chelsea that it wasn't worth a response. We shouldn't consider any offer less than 110-120m cash.

Don't have one.
I wouldn't mind selling him for over 120 mil if that offer comes, but who the hell we buy to replace him. Vlahovic comes first to mind, but is he really on that level yet, at least heading into this season... But then again, even if lukaku stays, will we be good enough next season to fight for anything more than cl place anyway.

Tough fuckin decision, IF of course offer rises up to 120 mil or more.

Plus you already have Lautaro with a very tricky contract situation. In a year from now you could have a new attacking duo. Too big of a risk.

The time to sell him was before selling Hakimi. Selling him now would be way too risky.

I feel differently. Selling Hakimi was a short-sighted, idiotic decision that this club will regret for the next 20 years until they find the next Achraf Hakimi who they'll sell way too quickly ('tis the Circle of Life™), but whatever the case may be, that decision has happened and we aren't going to be able to get him back from Paris now. If we're getting 9-digit offers for Lukaku, we'd be fucking idiots to not try and sell him at that price. He's 28 years old and never going to be worth this much on the market ever again, and we have no idea whether he'll ever find 2019-'21 form again with Conte gone. Obviously you can't sufficiently force him out if he doesn't want to leave, but this is a move I'd have no problem making. It's the kind of move that there should've been just enough patience on as to not have to force-sell Hakimi so fucking quickly in the first place. We always knew that big offers would eventually be floated out there for Lukaku or Lautaro alike.

Grealish is English and English players are genetically superior to all others.
Except when they have to take a penalty. That is when you can count on the English to inevitably shit the bed.

It's still a bit unclear is it 100m€ + Alonso offer or 100m€ valued offer including Alonso. Romano has been notoriously a bit unclear with these sometimes (at least for my liking).

Whatever is going to happen, decisions needs to be done during this week. If Lukaku ends up being open for the sale, Marotta needs to contact Fiorentina immediately for Vlahovic. We also need to basically have the replacement lined up before we officially sell Lukaku.

My gut feeling is Lukaku isn't having any of this. Talks of the 15m€ salary offer are probably total BS. I mean that's probably gross and not net, because 15m€ net equals £450k gross week wage. No one at Chelsea makes anywhere close to that, Kante makes £300k.

Chelsea and their overvalued shit wing backs. Fuck off. Alonso and Emerson barely play for their club and somehow they’re valued by their dipshit DoS.

Anyway it’s too late to sell Rom. The season starts in 3 weeks.
