Ozil on the right side, with Maicon behind him, Milito up front and Eto'o on the left, look just great, not to mention we can wasily switch to 442 with him. + he can be great as Sneijder replacement....Would give us many options.

From what we know, Ozil didn't play (almost at all) at Werder on the wing. He plays in Wes position. He has a lot of vision, creativity, he has some dribbling capabilities, but not as a typical winger.

If our management/coach thinks he can fit there, I'm all for it. But seeing that we never entered into negotiations for him, or were never much interested, it seems they don't consider him for the wing position.

He has played in both Wes and wing positions. It depends on their coach's system, who likes both 4-2-2-2 and 4-2-3-1, over the 2nd half of last season mostly the latter. However when he plays on the wing, he isn't the typical flank runner but likes to move to the centre and then plays the deadly pass or searches for the self-finish.

I didn't watch him almost at all last season to be honest, but football-lineups from what I saw are rarely wrong, and I've looked couple weeks ago at his games, and from what I remember, I think he only played once on the side of the midfield, and I think it was 4-4-2 flat even. Besides that he played behind the striker(s) n 4-4-2 rombo or 4-2-3-1.

He might perform best in wes's position, but he did well and considered their 2nd best player the year before playing wide when diego is still around...he make diego looked good and cheated jube 24m...(bs from me.. haha)

Maicon is our fullback and winger, with a left footed midfielder playing on right and cutting in, we would have a deadly right side. It would be perfect.
+ he can fill Wes role when needed, although there is Coutinho there too. Finally, we would have more then one player with vision and flair.
I am not saying lets go and get him as our no.1 target, but with him and one more smart investment, we wold have a deadly team, better then last one, and definitely more of team that can play attractive football but till very organized and strong when defending

It doesnt matter if Özil doesnt fit a winger role, we dont play with real wingers who hug the line and go to the backline anyways.

It makes sense to replace Pandev with a great passer/assist maker like Özil, this will make Sneijder be able to play even deeper and closer to the probable Cambiasso-Masch partnership, who might not be the best with the ball, without sacrificing anything in attack. Its exactly the kind of player we need, especially if we sign Mascherano.

But then again, there is not much point talking about Özil anyways, we havent been mentioned even once since it was stated a few times that Özil only wanted to go to Liga or EPL if he was to move from germany since he didnt want to go a worse league than he is already in, understandable enough ofcourse.

With Maicon staying, I think it will be Sculli in the end, which to me is enough. Taking into consideration Castelazzi, Mascherano, Coutinho and Biabiany to me we will be stronger than last year.

Sculli is not a world beater, and will be probably 4th or 5th attacker, but the good thing about it is:

a) will not earn a lot
b) will not moan on the bench
c) proven in a decent italian team
d) will give more chance to Coutinho/Biabiany
e) is not Kuyt - Rafa's favourite, who would probably play a lot and that could become nto easy for our youngsters there

He have same characteristics like Iniesta, not that class but with potential to be even better.

Iniesta played million games on "wing" in Barca's 4-3-3 formation and I don't see one reason why Ozil can't do the same. We can get so much with this player and we can't lose much because he's young and talented (price will be plus 10 for next five years).

Ozil over Mascherano is my choice, Mascherano position is covered and players like Ozil are gold.

Ozil would be great addition to the team, althought I haven't seen much of him with Werder tbh, but as I've heard he was one of the best players.. he played as AMF with Germany NT in the World Cup, that means he would be fantastic sub for Sneijder, while he can play even as a winger, that I think he would be better than Pandev (at least, I think).

Although he isn't famous as a fighter or so, at least he has great technique and vision, he could give us great creativity. While we could use Eto'o as we did last season, then I would be fine with it.

Aquilani? He is injured 50% of every season.

As for Özil, seems he is close to signing for Barca, though United and Chelsea are also in it. Shame he is yet another player who doesnt want Italy.

I hope he flops big time.
