Extremely talented?:palm:

Ok, let's agree to disagree, we are obviously miles apart on our opinions here.

And I hope I am proven very, very wrong.

And yet, they are 18-19 years old. It's not like they are 20+ years old. you know what A YEAR can mean to you player? I dont expect much ATM from them, but all 3 have shown flashes of brilliance. You cant expect concistency from them, or to be starters in a big club. there is NO player that has been starter in big club at the age of 18.

we will talk in 3 years again. Even Messi who is super talented and the best there is wasnt starter or important player for barca at the age of 18-19. he was sub, and in his first season scored 1 only, in his second how much it was, 6-7?

Please, you cant say they will be average YET.. If they dont break into the first team in 3 years, then you can :palm: all you want.

edit: i know, you will say "dont put coutinho and messi in same sentence", but i was just saying, giving example. :)

You do realize that they're still teenagers, right? Most footballers reach their peak at, what, 26-27? Obi has shown maturity beyond his age, Coutinho has shown skill that most people have a hard time even dreaming of, and Castaignos scored 15 goals in the best Dutch league at the age of 17-18.

Yes, I believe they're extremely talented - all they need is some Nike-sponsorship and obviously another team's shirt, before they can be called that according to some people.

I think there is quite a huge problem with our young player project:

We set hope in players like Casta and Coutinho but look at them, they are 18 years old. At other teams, these deals are done in the background. They are bought for the second team or get loaned out till they are ready. At Inter they are bought for the first team sitting on the bench and developing zero. How should they get stronger when they are not playing. It doesn't help us to say: hey he is 18 yrs old, he has time when in the time he isn't getting stronger.

If Inter want young players they have to buy youngsters like Hazard etc who have a base that is enough to play with us and get stronger and turn into worldclass. These players cost something. Either you buy players who aren't ready ( but have a bright future ) and develope them in the background or you buy young players who are good enough to play for the first team and develop there.

Coutinho won't be much better in two years if he sit on the bench.

Where would Obi be if he had played the last 2 years constantly?

It is quite a messed up situation. Players like Vidal, Inler are for the first team, players like Casta and Coutinho aren't yet we prey they suddenly turn into godlike.

Palacio is atleast talented, and a player who is used to the team looking to him for solutions. Like a poor man's Ibrahimovic :)

Kucka looks like a Stankovic in the making. Provided the deal is a fair one I am in favor of both moves. I would have liked another winger/forward, but Palacio has Serie A experience, and he is better technically than Sculli (LOL, I know).

For midfield there are some talents playing in France that I have my eye on, M'Vila or Moussa Sissoko, but Kucka looks like he would at the least breathe life into our midfield.

Actually, when Messi was 18 he scored 6 goals for Barca in the 2005-2006 season. When he was 19 he scored 14 goals for Barca in 26 games in the 2006-2007 season.

But I kind of agree with your opinion. You can't make definitive statements about players like Cou, Obi and Luc when they are still so early in their development cycle. However they won't develop much if they don't play regular football, as others have said.

Ehh, maybe with this whole rebuilding approach they might get a nice amount of playing time this season. I hope so. Might as well give our talents some oppurtunities to grow if the season's gonna suck anyway :p

Are Pazzini, Milito and Castaignos our only 3 forwards now?

I wasn't so keen on the Forlan thing but now we have 1 guaranteed goal-scorer, and he needs service to score. Forlan as a short term gap 'till we find someone wouldn't be that bad actually.

Lavezzi wouldn't leave Napoli unless a ridiculous offer was received, I mean over 30 million which would be pointless.

How close is Poli to being done btw?

This shows to give Branca and co. the full mercato before being judged.
