to make my point clear, some people here are being emotional, do i see zanetti as weak link absolutly not, but sadly every player has his time and like i said i want him to stay next year, plus selling maicon and buying kolarov or another good wing back, and give more chances to faraoni or pecorini to grow.

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFIf he's the lone DM then it's not a huge deal. It starts to be a problem when it's a trio of Cuchu, Deki and JZ. It's such a terrible set-up at this point in their careers.

whatever though, i want him to make at least 82 more serie A appearances, I dont care weather its 1 minute sub appearances, but I can bear to see Maldini and Zoff ahead of him, he only need 6 more appearances to overtake zoff now and he will be in serieA top 3 all time appearances

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFits not about being emotional, its about the fact that he is still one of our best and most consistient players. the fast he is 38 is irrelevant as it's not effecting how he plays.
look at Stankovic, he can hardly stay on his feet for 90 mins depite being useless for most of them, he is past it and is 5 years younger than JZ.
players don't 'hit a number' then have to go regardless of how well they are doing
if JZ plays at LB and we sell maicon, then faraoni can get more time at RB. i want to see young players on but JZ getting a game is different than Stankovic, lucio, maicon taking up space

He'll only overlap Maldini if he plays until 2014/2015. and I don't see why he can't. He is physicall better than Maldini. At JZ's age now, Maldini was already an injury prone player. JZ is still rarely out due to injury. Slowly but surely he should be a back up to let young generation but he would still make a good back up. I think he could play until he is 44-45 years old tbh. I hope he can reach 1000 performances for Inter, most all-time Serie A caps, and hopefully most all-time caps in football. Remember, he hasn't retired from NT..
If only he didn't spend that 3 years in Banfield, but Inter instead..

Thanks a lot we do know that Goalkeepers can play much longer then any other players most goalkeeper are best around 28-35 compare to a football players is around 26-32 max but i presume soon JZ will get passed Dino zoff and next season Pagliuca
Just join this forum. Zanetti is my all time favourite players. Even if in the end he doesn't surpass Maldini record it doesn't matter. He is already the better player than Maldini. At 34 Maldini already played at CB (and at one derby I saw him overun by Adriano). Zanetti is entirely different. At 37+ he can still play in any position RB, LB, DMF, CMF, RM, LM and not overrun even by Messi or Robben.

I would be suprised he is so much for inter then we can ever dream.
The day we lost bergomi we thought it was the end of Inter but to be honest he is more legend then anything.
I dare to compare him with ( RIP Giacinto ) its so sad he isnt anymore with us. But live goes on and this is going to be the best moments we gonna remember him. The way he moves on the field the way he make us lough. The way he sham youngsters, as well we will remember him not because he won all this title, as we will remember the worth season inter had, loyalty, something you will not find.
