Yeah, much depends on the departures. I don't see Stankovic going anywhere unless he wants to leave for America which I doubt. As for JC, Maicon and Pazzo, if we can get rid of them, it's considerably better situation for us.

We've already got Forlan's and Lucio's big wages off the books. Also Samuel and Chivu took lower salaries.

i have to say

this mercato is shaping up to be a disaster

we've been chasing this ball playing midfielder since the start - and we havent even got a proper target now who is reasonable. 6 weeks of fail.

we havent signed the new attacker that Stram has requested. We haven't signed a new full back. We haven't sold Cesar or Maicon....

still some time before we can ju dge, but its looking like an epic fail.

Have we really chased a ball playing midfielder or is it something we've only been requesting in the forum...

Hi, my names Paulinho, apparently you're conveniently ignoring me because you're only defending the management and unable to analyze the situation empirically.

Hi Paulinho, why did you knock back an opportunity to sign with Inter to then extend your contract with the Corinthians ?

Eh, I dont disagree, but it was clear we were after him (for a fucking long time, and potentially still are).

Paulinho can be that player? I'm skeptical tbh. Most reports on here referred to him as a hard working box to box rather than a play making mid. But thanks for the smart alec response.

I've seen a few games of his... and yes that looks to be the case.

But then, I've only seen a few games. :pazzini:

Well, whether he's a ball playing midfielder or not, we've been chasing a fucking midfielder for 6 weeks - 2 months now, and still no sign of signing anyone...

No but seriously, :yuno:

..

Pazzini looks to have no future here and more annoyingly, Strama seems absolutely hell-bent on getting rid of Pazzo.. But, if the solution is to trade him for Quagliarella, then... :yao: I'd much rather keep him. No other clubs seem interested, or rather, can afford him.

Maicon? Looks like there might be a chance he could stay. JC seems on his way out, but I don't want any Tottenham rejects.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we will sign at least 2 more players before the mercato ends. That being said, if our only signings were Handanovic, Palacio, Mudingayi and Silvestre, and we fail to replace the players who were trying to sell, we're going to have an even worse season than last.

I said a couple weeks ago that if we didn't make more signing then this is a 'worst case scenario' mercato. At which point I was chastised for not having been more dire with my 'worst case scenarios'.

Seriously, Guarin, Palacio, Silvestre, Handa is a mercato? Considering we already had Guarin and Palacio was all but signed back in May?

Selling Luc, and not getting fees for ANY ONE else, incl. Maicon, JC and Pazzo?

Hi my name is reality. How many times have you actually seen him play not on youtube? I should go out and make a youtube video of me doing tricks with a brazilian shirt on. I am 6'3 and pretty fast too. Maybe you'll all be dying for inter to sign me

My mercato reality:

Pajo convinced me about De Jong.
He also influenced that I want that Porto guy who I didn't see never in my life.
Browha influenced that I want Dos Santos, he compared him with Slavkovski and I can't wait to tell him: "I told you so."

Yeah Pajo's optimism makes me think that with Pereira and De Jong we might have a good season. But if you're wrong I'm gonna have to hunt you down and personally hand you an angry letter.

what the fuck? People reading this and actually thanking this post just shows how mindlessly optimistic people here are...

- we needed not a winger but a player who added pace to our team [not palacio]
- even before the departure of Lucio it was well not that a cb was needed and in fact is still needed.
- we did not ever need a fucking back up/rotation dmf, so don't ever even think of repeating such bullshit again. we needed a central midfielder with creativity who can pass the ball and dictate play.
- what's next are you going to tell me that we needed Handanovic more than we need a lb, cm, or striker? :palm:

i've tried to do my best and remain silent on this epic fail that has been a transfer window in the hopes of one day coming here to find out that we signed an actual good player that we actually needed, but with 16 days left, that's just not going to happen.. so I've all but given up on that hope.. and will easily call those three signings average and shows just how far we've fallen.

should have tried harder bro. those players do improve our team. i said they weren't ideal or world class, but they weren't random transfers either like the guy was saying.

yea a central midfielder with creativity who can pass the ball and dictate play should be a priority but it doesn't mean other areas don't need work. we did need a backup dmf like mudingayi. a true world class dmf to replace cambiasso is what we'll need soon. but we have other priorities to spend our bigger sums of money on atm so until then we do need a backup like mudingayi, who was cheap. i think you're stuck on the fact we've bought a load of average dmf's over the years. but at th moment we don't really have any decent depth in pure dmf's who can actually run
