Honestly I don't have much faith in Banega doing well here if the plan is to include him in the lineup instead of Jovetic, without doing any major adjustments tactically, simply because Jovetic isn't that much worse.

They are not similar as footballers but our system and formation are probably the same as last year which means we may have matches with Melo and Medel playing further behind without helping much offensively. The defensive midfielder they used in Sevilla was Krychowiak which is a far better footballer than these two both defensively and offensively. The same goes for their number 8 type-of-player in Ibarra. Then add their wingers in Konoplyanka, Vitolo and Krohn-Dehli. The tactical scheme in Sevilla benefitted Banega much more than the one he probably will end up in here where he will be much more alone which will be the problem just as it has been for Jovetic due to Mancini enjoyment for defensive orientated central midfielders.
