But IMO it's a better move to bring an experienced ITALIAN player like Cassano who's proved himself everywhere rather than Quaresma who hasn't really proved anything except megging Portuguese defenders.

i don't mind if quaresma won't come... all i say is that letting Cruz go (to some serie a rival) and replacing him with some guy who can't stand being on the bench and keeps bitching with the coach is not a wise move...
and yes, quaresma is better than cassano (imo) but even if he isn't better, he could get much better @ Inter

I would without a doubt pick Cassano over Quaresma. Both are talented and young but the thing is that with Cassano we would add a Italian who is pretty cheap to get whereas Quaresma is pretty expensive, plus with the signing of Jimenez I dont see a place for Quaresma.

If we were to sell Cruz, wich I highly doubt, I would love it if Cassano would take his place as he would be a great buy for our future, seeing that Crespo is already 32. Having said that, I can guarentee for 99% both will not be signed by us, as a matter of fact I think our transfer market is closed. The only possible arrivals are that of Chivu and Kovac. Even those look very difficult to get at the moment.

Quaresma fits nowhere in our formation. Although he COULD fit in the middle.

As for Cassano. A good IBra sub, and a valid option for the hole man.

That said, I think Figo is expecting to play important games this year from his interview...so maybe all you naysayers about the big CAM are right.

people loved quaresma because they saw a young figo, one (with less class) but still able to play both wings and behind the strikers (if he couldnt before, figo could always teach him)

as for cassano, well he would be a gamble and would basically serve the same role as messi would if he ever came

definately not a playmaker

Dude I like Cassano as a player. But comparing him with Messi?

Messi is far more talented player, by far.

Lol Alex, hell yeah... The moment he stepped in Madrid he is fuked up... That's one of the reasons I don't want him here, the second is his temper, the third we don't need him at all... :)

Experienced ? You seem to forget that cassano was nothing but a great talent when he left roma, he never developed into anything special. And now after wasting 2 years at the bench in madrid eating candy, the only thing he has proved is to be a complete failure. It seem some people here think that cassano actually ever became a top player, well he didnt, he never was more than a great talent that now is completely wasted.

He had much talent but threw it all away.

Wrong. He was star of a Roma team that went a great way against Milan in the standings.

He was a star ever since his debut in Serie A. From his debut to his end Cassano was always one of the deadliest players in Serie A. Then with a very poor Italy in Euro 2004 he proved to be their best player.

Mike is correct. Even at Bari he was a frieken star. Way more accomplishments than any other Italian star including Rosina, Pazzini, Rossi. He is more than all of them combined.

You have to smoke crack regularly or not have watched him play a single time to believe that.

Cassano was never a star. He never played consistently well or scored consistently. There is a long way from talent to star, and cassano never made it.

I cant forget his performances. I agree that it was in the past, but he can always come back.

And Alex, if you can think Adri to come back, theres no way you can say Cassano is finished.

Cassano's hype was all built around, WHAT HE HAD THE POTENTIAL TO DO, rather than what he could ACTUALLY do. Too bad, people were speaking of the potential that never really was there.
Apart from 03/04 season, when you can probably say he was one of the top 10 players in the league, he has been nothing but trouble.
Those who call him a star, are just deluding themselves. He only reason he is so popular in this forum is because he is Italian.
Cassano should seriously go to Palermo or Lazio, and try to rebuild his career.
