I read this in one of the evening papers yesterday as well.

Capello, who has returned to Austria with his England squad to resume altitude training, is contracted to the FA until the end of Euro 2012 and this month removed a get-out clause in his £6m-a-year deal, signed in December 2007. That would have allowed him to talk to other interested parties in a two-week window after the World Cup, with his decision to have the clause cut considered as a very visible sign of his continued commitment to the England role.

Hiddink and Capello are both great coaches, but one has to wonder whether their respective FAs will let them go and thus the only reasonable option everybody will come back to is Benitez...

He removed the clause that would allow him to leave for free in those 2 week window. But the €5 million clause still remains. At least that's what the italian papers have said.

Anyway we will know who our new manager is by 17 July. Don't remember us ever start preseason without the manager in place.

Both will have clauses in the contracts. So it isn't just upto whether the FA's want to keep them or not.

if this is true which i think it is we will get him..right now cappello is not saying anything bc he still has the wc to concentrate on but after it his work is done with england, i am sure 100 mil to spend a year and joining a top european club. joining a team that he never won the scudetto with will make him want to go.

Hiddink or Capello? Capello or Hiddink? I'll be dancing if we sign either of them, can't bring myself to think about Benitez or anyone else.
