I have a better question. Why people are so obssesed of the possesion football played by Inter ? About playing "better football" ?

There's a misconception that possession football = barca, hold 70% possession of the ball, type football. That's not true and in any case it won't happen because we're not brimming with technically gifted players. But that's the problem, you see, no one on our team can hold the ball. This needs to happen when we're not being pinned back in our own half (which will be most of the time), when we do the patient build up and need to constantly probe at stubborn defence to carve out an opening. This why we signed Thiago Motta and this has been his role, unfortunately he hasn't delivered consistently. This is why I want Inler who is a very similar player, just a better, more consistent passer.
Look, Lets not waste our time defining roles because roles have become so intertwined over the years. You won't find a "regista" or a "trequartista" in the classical sense, the pace of the game has changed all that. So let me put it this way, we need a central midfielder who can hold the ball, distribute/pass, attack and defend in equal measure, make an effort to cover every blade of grass, basically what Motta has been doing with mixed results, what Schweinsteiger does with Germany Bayern, etc etc, and that is Inler to a tee, not Mascherano because he's not a CMF, Mariga, we don't know yet. Schweinstegier is unlikey because I'm sure Bayern will never sell him. Inler is a very good 2nd option IMO. After all, we went for Milito instead of a world class forward like Benzema or Torres so fuck it why not
About Xavi Alonso, I disagree. His ability to launch one from 40-50 yards could do a lot of damage to a team like Barca who like to push high up on the field. Our formation would have to change a tad to accommodate him.
