Why are you all saying no to Palacio? The only thing that i don't like about him is his age. To hell with his price and stuff. He's a good player, and in lack of good forwards it's good to have him here. Lavezzi isn't much younger, and your standards on who's Inter material are very low.
I bet you'd all be crying if he'd end up in Roma or Milan and beat the crap out of the opponents next year! Don't underrate the players, just like you did with Cavani some time ago.

1. Lavezzi is considerably younger at 27.
2. Palacio was yet again not our first option.

I won't mind at all if we get Lavezzi + Palacio, I actually would like it. But this makes me very afraid that we'll be in the same situation as the last transfer windows when Branca was "ohhh... we could not get A nor B, so here you go: we have only C avaiable" (Zarate, Palombo, Forlan...). And then we end up on the EL preliminary rounds after 10 years in CL.

We need strikers and forwards, at least 2 in my opinion, 3 if we get rid of both Forlan and Palacio, realistically i think our attack will look something like this:-

Milito / Lavezzi / Palacio / Destro

No one is underrating, well maybe some, for me if it wasn't for his stupid rat-tail I would even prefer him over Lavezzi, but a 30 years old player for €12M when we already have a very old squad is really bad business. I mean spend €12M now to get Palacio now and in 2 years spend another €15M more for another Palacio, why don't we just spend €25M on James Rodriguez or Belhanda or even Lucas keep them for around 5 years and them sell them for a profit, unlike Palacio who in a couple of years will be worth nothing.

In my opinion is a bad vice to keep buying old players, in the end you spend much more money and also hinder the development of our youngsters, I think if we are gonna buy old players they should be world-class or at least close or as free agents, if not then buy young players, they'll last longer and maybe we'll make a profit or at least recover some of the money. It's true youngsters can flop, but guess what the same happens with experienced players, case in point Forlan.

This reminds me on the Milito saga, he also came after great season at Genoa, was also 30 years old, also Argentinean, and people also whined :D Lets hope if Palacio comes, he will be what Milito was :D

Come on man, it's not the same. Milito was scoring around 20 goals per season in Europe for 5 years before coming to Inter, Palacio overachieved a lot this year and may never pull anything close to that again.

Ho hum, I really don't care much for Palacio. (I CAN'T STAND HIS FUCKING HAIR)

As it stands we really need an SS. And Palacio fits that role. Would have preferred Lavezzi but it seems like too many rich clubs got involved and we were priced out.

If we do get Palacio then that means Folran has to depart. The fact that we needed to look elsewhere for an SS means that the coach has no confidence in Forlan being able to fill that role.

If his transfer fee and wages are low, then it might be a good deal after all.

For next season:

CF: Milito + Castaignos + Pazzini (or Destro) is enough

But as WF we still are short: Forlan should be sold, Zarate did not had his loan renewed, so we'll need Palacio + someone at least

personally i wouldnt mind him but i agree that 12m can be spent better if we play in the 4-3-1-2 you dont necessarily need that creative of a forward so destro and milito i feel would do fine id rather put that 12 mil for a defender honestly we are italian we should build from the back up..

very true. with younger players you also have more room for development. what if his next season isnt so great. what if next season the pressure of a big club will be to much, new environment, bad form and he flops? we would have spend 12 million on a soon to be 31 year old winger. even if has a decent season, he would only last 2 maybe 3 years tops. i dont think we will get him though, branca and moratti cant be that foolish.

That was my point all along. If we indeed spend 10+ mils, just add another 10 ffs and buy someone younger.

But yeah, many are underrating Palacio and his quality. I wanted him last summer and was one of the rare that did, but not now. Last summer the rumored price was 8-10, for 29 old good winger, which aint much. But 12 for 30, fuck no!

I'd rather have Gomez for the rumored price of 6 mils tbh...

I dont want fucking Palacio, its like we want to downgrade year after year

We started it from Ibra.. (cmon he was valued so much from us he was like our savior with a really big nose) When we got Etoo and Milito .. Than we sold etoo and got Zarate and Forlan, now Zarate and Forlan will go and we get Palacio/Destro, they are bench players at best for us, we are INTER not some fucking midtable.

MM said that he will spend, well spend on the right players motherfucker I dont want inter to be like Milan, retiring 7/8 players per season .

I like Destro and Lavezzi. I honestly don't think Napoli will go for a Pandev+Cash deal unless no one else steps forward with 31m and DeLaurentis settles ad the end of the transfer window. If it comes down to Gomez or Palacio I would go for Gomez. As noted above, Palacio doesn't have a resale value, has probably had his best season possible, and is going to cost too much. Honestly, I'd take neither and save the money for another window. I'd really like to see an offloading of Forlan, Pandev, and Pazzini with the purchase of Destro. I mostly want a top class mid like Sahin.

This would be a very good deal. I think he is a little underrated on this forum. But I hope he would just be forlans replacement.

Branca...beurk
We are repeating our mistakes in our 2 recent years by having Palacio. He is old, no World Class level. What a WF needs is speed, how can u expect that from an average over 30 player like him????? NO NO NO and NOOOOO. I rather let our young Primavera play than seeing Palacio in Inter.

So 11 million € for a 30 year old. And he could be getting a 4 year contract. I think we need a new president/management.
