Was just about to come in here asking about Zappacosta seeing as people were putting him in predictions in the mercato game thread. I thought he looked good at Chelsea last season, but honestly speaking I didn't watch much of them other than when it happened to be on the television.

Based on my very limited knowledge he's definitely the best full-back we're linked with to replace Cancelo, other than Florenzi.

ATM my wish list is looking like this: Cancelo>>>Florenzi>Zappacosta>>>>>>whatever trash from the Portuguese league/Serie A/Ligue 1/etc. We've got a perfectly good set of mediocre full-backs, why waste any more money on players that won't improve us. God I wish Sabatini were around just to find us another good RB.

I think you may be underrating D'ambrosio like a lot of posters here do

Not really. I always praise D'Ambrosio. My posts on him are everywhere in his thread. However, I also admit that he's not a talented or skilled RB. He's like Favalli. Gets the basic job done and plays it safe, but he's also better than Favalli because he occasionally scores important goals.

But he's not enough. Our attacking gameplay is so shit that we need some very creative and skilled fullbacks to make up for it. It also doesn't seem that Ausilio has any plans or intentions to sign quality attacking players (No Rafinha and Cancelo while names like Politano and Berzynski floating around).

D'Ambrosio will be enough to start for teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona since they're already stacked with creative players in every position. But that's not gonna work at Inter. With Ausilio, we're going back to Mancini's favorite players. Hardworkers with little to no talent. We won't go far with fullbacks like Asamoah and D'Ambrosio while players like Politano and Candreva are running around the pitch.

I thought it was clear how much we badly lack players like Cancelo.

To made people feeling better, last season

D'ambrosio : 2 goals, 3 assist
Cancelo : 1 goals, 3 assist

:yao:

To made fair comparison between two is D'ambrosio to Cancelo is like Zanetti to Maicon. Haha ofc its bit exaggerated, we know Zanetti is reliable fullback and he doing his job well but when Maicon coming we felt the excitedness after see how he offer something we never seen before, a good crossing, flashy dribblinv and he can string 3 pass unlike our other fullback. Thats for sure and huge upgrade to our squad.

But then it could work because our defence line working to help Maicon unleash his attacking prowess and to made his flaw not get exposed badly. Basically same happen with Cancelo, Spalletti doing his magic find a solution to get best out of him lowkey made us playing like with 3 at back so Cancelo can be more comfortable join the attack play as hybrid RB/RWB.

Idk what point Im trying to show, Im just trust Spalletti on this he somehow will make it work with D'ambrosio or any new RB we bought later.

*for bold* There's somewhat a compensation though when we successfully get Malcom. He is very much aggressive in offense unlike Candreva who did basically nothing last season. Thus, getting a defensive sort of RB is quite an option at this point. We needed Cancelo back then to push up attacking play on the right side of the play because Candreva could not be relied on. Now, that if we got Malcom that wouldn't be as much as a problem. However, I still don't rate Ambrosio to be put on that post :trolldad:

That's a big 'if'. We're already linked with several players with 30m price tags on average. All in one summer. I doubt that we'll spend additional 45m on Malcom. I also still don't trust Ausilio with this task.

For me it's either on those two options on the right play. Get Cancelo or get Malcom/any offensive RW with defensive kind of RB or else I'm losing my trust on the agenda to make our squads improved. I'll think it's only done half of the way

And here I was thinking Zanetti was one of the best, most consistent dribblers I've ever seen

Now we're being linked with Piccini. Why are we so obsessed with signing players from the Portuguese League?

There's rumors that Inter are interested in Zappacosta, and quiet frankly I'd love to have him on this team and not because he's extended family (his brother married my cousin).

I can see if there's any truth in the rumors tonight since I'm seeing them (Davide is in Toronto right now to see his brother).

They are from Sora, where my parents are from...still have family there now. Would love to have him just for that reason!

Half my family, is from Sora (mom's side, that is actually how my cousin met Fabio [Davide's older brother], on a school trip to Rome, stopped in Sora and met him there), the other half is from San Fili, Consenza.

I'll ask him tonight. He's actually a really nice guy and glad he did well this year.

Coming here..lol.
P.s- Congrats on getting chosen to co host the 2026 w/cup.

Thanks I guess? I won't spend a dime going to any of the games. I don't enjoy being around drunken retards.

As for Davide, I finally got to speak with him 1 on 1 after 3 years of knowing him (people obviously busting his chops because he's famous footballer from their home town, and me not wanting to be one of those jackasses).
He did say there is truth to the rumors but he hasn't heard anything back (probably due to Inter's FFP shit), he's completely open to coming here. One of my cousin's uncles is a huge Inter fan and was busting his nuts all night to come sign for inter to replace Dumbo, so I really didn't get much time as these old Italian men from Sora kept hounding him, meanwhile all he wanted to do was kick the ball around with his brother (Fabio) and Fabio's brother-in-law (my cousin) and his friend Federico (plays football but unsure of what team it is https://www.instagram.com/p/_RVZnOhYX8/). I should have taken a picture with them but I felt weird doing so.

So fingers crossed because he wants to play and now 2 teams have benched him. It's not him because he's pretty damn fucking humble and grateful. I think he's a bit of a push over and ends up buckling over pressure of not screwing up, and ends up doing so. He needs the right coach to instill confidence in him because he's a damn good player. Most players that are sprinters don't have ball control but he does.

Here's hoping, and if he does sign you know damn right I'll get him to sign a picture for the forum.

I did get him to sign 3 pieces of paper (I had nothing for him to sign), 1 for each of my kids and 1 for my nephew (birthday coming up).

Thank you for the inside information. I can't say i am a big fan of Zappacosta but he would be a luxury since we're linked with Piccini, Bereszynski and Aleix Vidal. :palm:
