Blind also give as an option to play with 3 at back since he can play as LCB/LB/DM too. Skriniar, De Vrij, Miranda, Blind and Rano is like our best CBs in past years.

If Santon, Naga, and Dalbert leave we also could use a LB backup

I would support the Blind signing. Can cover across the entire back-line, and play as a CDM should we be short in the midfield or want to shore up against teams like Napoli, Juve, Roma away. Plus it wouldn't be acceptable to continue with Santon as the first choice LB back-up.

Need to sign a starter for the RB spot first though. I've got a big man-crush on D'Ambro but he can't be starting in the Champions League.

If you think dumbo cant start against CL team and blind could then i have bad news for you
Heck we would be safer with dumbo then blind on either side

Didn't say he should start though, I was saying we should buy a starter (Cancelo) and Blind as a back-up for pretty much the entire back-line :rollani:

The main problem with him is his lack of athleticism,
He is slow as snail, and not strong enough as well, he would get burned hard by a pacey winger, offensively he has good passing ability though

Blind can cover LB, CB and CDM

He can take up LB position when we have advanced attacking RB, meaning that we shift to 3 at the back for majority of the match, with LM being Perising and RM being our attacking RB (Cancelo if possible)

He can take CDM position when extra cover in front of defence is needed, while being able to distribute long balls forward.

He can take CB position in case of emergency.

In short, Chivu v2.0.

Maybe a half-retired Chivu. There's no comparison. Chivu was world class when we signed him, Blind is on the same level as Darmian, D'Ambrosio, Nagatomo and that sort. No point in signing him, especially with high wages, when we can get similar players on the very cheap.

Inter Snub Chance To Bid For Manchester United Star

Inter are not considering the option of signing Manchester United defender Daley Blind this summer at the moment.

Blind was reduced to being a bit part player at Manchester United last season and the club are prepared to listen to offers for the Dutchman in the ongoing transfer window.

His representatives are believed to be in touch with a number of clubs about a possible switch from the Red Devils and he has been offered around in Italy as well.

Inter have been contacted by the defender’s entourage about a possible summer move, but it seems Blind won’t be wearing the Inter colours next season.

According to Italian outlet FcInterNews.it, the Serie A giants have refused to entertain the possibility of signing the Manchester United played during the ongoing transfer window.

Inter have already signed Kwadwo Asamoah on a free transfer from Juventus and aren't looking to add one more left-back to their squad at the moment.

Blind is unlikely to be part of Jose Mourinho’s plans going forward and with only a year left on his contract, Manchester United are keen to cash in on him this summer.

He joined Manchester United from Ajax in 2014 and has turned in 141 appearances for the club thus far.

Injuries ruined Chivu. He was one of the most astute CB's in the league when we got him, and in between his injuries he was excellent, especially in 2010 until that skull fracture against Chievo. It's a shame that after that he was half the player he once was.

I understand your point, but please don't put D'Ambrosio and Nagatomo in the same level. Its not good for my asthma.

Chivu was very underrated here at FIF. Chivu was a class player at Roma and was good for us in large periods, but injuries and spells of poor form at times made him into a scapegoat here.

Haha :D I like D'Ambrosio actually and feel that Nagatomo was a waste of space. But neither really are Inter material starting lineup players. Instead of level, let's just say that they're not part of the tier that Inter should be looking for players from if we want to improve. Add depth, that's another story. I mean there's no reason to sign a backup right back with D'Ambrosio around, but signing another D'Ambrosio for the other side is not really desirable.

Any semi-decent news here guys?
We are busy on Malcom Nainggolan Politano etc. but those are not as urgent as FBs. We need at least one, if not two for these positions.
Damn we currently have a starting LB (Asamoah), a backup RB (Dumbo). We DESPERATELY need a starting RB and a backup LB.

Santon is a walking point coupon for the opponents and he should be staying nowhere near the bench, let alone the field.

I don't want to commit the same mistake as last season i.e. we reinforce everywhere but forget the defence. Then leaking stupid points left and right e.g. Chievo Sassuolo. Next season it gotta be worse when we have to play also CL. Santon playing there?? :palm:
