They should ban the player if he is Colombian. Tho this really should have been settled when Uruguay mentioned the same player in youth levels. Or mentioned after he played 2 games not 8 and not 4/5 months after qualifiers ended. Fifa did strip a team points for bringing an ineligible player to 1 Round of games last cycle.

For me I’m Forza Ecuador on this. Think Colombia just got a coach because it is hoping Ecuador gets eliminated and we slide into 5th.

he's pretty good. it's a mistery to me that our other rb of the same age, preciado, plays for genk in belgium while castillo is about to be sold to some mexican club. but oh well. his entire professional carreer has been derailed by this bullshit.

Yea Ecuador doesn’t make sense on why they didn’t handle this when Uruguay mentioned it 5 years ago.

As for why he isn’t at a better club/league. I feel non Argentinian/Uruguayan/Brazilian players don’t get away with the Italian/Spanish grandma bs straight to eu passport. Falcao’s grandfather or great grandfather was British and they wouldn’t give him a passport and he was on rivers first team at like 17/18.

Also for a SA player not from those 3 countries they basically have to come as a starter for whatever club they go to. To waste a non eu spot.

Chile and Colombia on paper have better squads but that’s just because more guys play in Europe. They didn’t make it count when it matters.

Apparently Australia made it after a 0-0 draw and PKs versus Peru.


For some reason this qualification game took place in Qatar, the very place they wanted to avoid during the summer for the very tournament they're trying to qualify into.

I imagine it was a very dull 0-0 and players are suffocated and exhausted.

That was a huge effort. Played 16 of 20 games away from home due to the Covid period, and qualified. Not a fan of coach Arnold but credit where it's due.

The game was cagey, with both sides trying to avoid making mistakes. Players were cramping up a lot by the end of it. Thought Australia weren't very clinical at all, but hung in there.
