I'm here for a year and some months, and I've never seen a thread dedicated to people's cultures and traditions, or heard any local songs(except American and English of course :D)

In Greece and Cyprus, most people like traditional, classic music. There are some singers that are still not forgotten even if they have died, and young people love their songs, even if they were first sang 50 years before they were born. Certainly there are new singers and new stars, but these people are for today. Traditional music is for past, present and future...

I'll upload some tunes of the best Greek songs and it'd be nice if we all did something like this.

In Portugal we have a lot of traditional musics and dances, but that is being replaced by foreigner music especially in the big cities, also we have alot of people coming in and they bring their own culture.
The most known Portuguese culture form as to be "Fado" and this can be translated to "destiny" an that shows a bit of the Portuguese mentality.
Also from 1930's until 1974 Portugal lived in ditatorial regime so we could not really evolve our culture as we liked to.

I am from Armenia, and the things are close to Cyprus, as Yuko have described.
But I like (adore) extreme metal music. I had a band in early 90th, we were playing death metal and grindcore :)
I can upload some arm. music as well

I remember that issue with Belgian and Dutch chocolate and ice-cream... It must have destroyed you economically...

Seriously, I didn't know that about Arabs...

Edlaut, we have one thing that unites us... Our hate for Turkey...

I am not racist, or faschist, but have to confess, that I hate Turkey. I could change my mind, if they accept all their crimes and apologize for everything!
But Turkey still continues it's shameful politics, and that make me sick of them. :yuck:

One of the poorest countries in the world. Haiti is located in the Carribeans right next to the Dominican Republic. We speak both French and Creole (two languages, doh) and I was raised and lived there for 10 years before moving to the USA in 1998. A type music we practice that I love is called "kompa" and the population of Haitians in Florida is as large as any excluding Cubans. ;)

Just a quickie.. feel free to ask any questions if you are bored enough to do so.

our traditions and culture looks pretty much like any other European country.

but there are still some thing for example we are still very proud of our world famous fairy tale writer HC. Andersen and other poets and philosophers. Then of cause there are danish food. and we are the one who export most windmills in the world so if you have windmills in your country then they most likely come from Denmark  and of cause the best vikings came from Denmark :boxing: as you might know we conquered entire England, and we was the last country who achieved that. Hell yeah. we still have a royal family, we are the oldest monarchy  and mead(beers brewed on honey) come from Denmark. it's quite disgusting.

Here you listening too the exact same music like in the rest of the world, of cause there are some danish artists, who still make danish music, and who are still very popular but that is the minority.

we celebrate some weird shit, :wth: maybe it's because we liked to get ****ed I don't know, we "celebrate" the bombing of Copenhagen, the defeat to the swedes :wallbang:

this is a football forum so you might know, the laudrup brothers and Peter Schmeichel.

least but not last we are the last empire left in the world, (Greenland and the Faroe Islands)
