This Jonathan Clauss guy is literally random. A 28 years old French man who never played on international levels and is now playing for Lens who finished 7th in Ligue 1. Of course I never watched him play but still.

Yeah. That's the narrative frrom the media. If we sell Hakimi all the other top players are going to stay and they will only sell deadwood. Personally i am not buying it. They're leaking it to the media to reassure the fans. If we receive good offers for Lukaku, Lautaro or even Skriniar (which will probably happen imo) one of them will probably be gone and then i will be even more pissed with Hakimi sale.

I personaaly wouldnt be surprised if, say, Hakimi takes us to net 0, we sell dead wood for a transfer budget, and then someone like Lukaku or Lautaro goes and gives us a major transfer budget.

I'm not saying replacing someone like Lautaro would be easy, but we migh be better off spending (say) 80-90mil on 3-4 really good young players - like Raspardori, Emerson, a new Lautaro out of Argentina, Locatelli?

I dont think the 'leak to the media we're only selling 1, but actually sell 2' makes any sense - fans will be in more uproar than before. The point about leaking is to set an expectation

That was also my idea. But for me there are Lukaku and Skrniar. Lukaku for obvious reason, there is the last summer when we can fetch a big sum. Next year he will be 29y. From 3-man defense, Skrniar could bring big money, de Vrij not so much. I don't want to sell Bastoni at any price. With 50m for Skrniar we could take someone like Milenkovic/Tomiyasu and still have enough money for someone like Locatelli/Castrovilli.

As you say in theory would be better to spend 80-90m for 3-4 young players, but you must hit them. Maximum one is allowed to flop. The other 3 must deliver. More Skrniar than Gags, Gabigol, J.Mario, Dalbert. And I put here the young players that flopped. I didn't mention Ninja, Candreva who are everythiing but young. Unfortunately the list of flops is waay longer. And we are surprised we have finacial problems? Really!

I wonder if Roma couldd be talked into selling Kumbulla/Mancini or Ibanez, given Mourinho will want to spend money.

I'd rather not sell Skriniar, personally, having a solid back line should get us to the CL next season at least. Lukaku and Hakimi if we have to.

Thing with Skriniar is that he's still not very comfortable as a wide center back and someone like Milenkovic will fit better.

Ideally, we get over this hump only by selling Lukaku and the deadweight (Nainggolan, Mario, Lazaro, Dalbert) plus a couple of unwanted players (Perisic & Vecino). That should give us the necessary funds and would cut the costs to the required point.


I also worry that Simone Inzaghi with Romelu Lukaku may not mesh that well.

I agree, him and Eriksen pretty much turned the season around.

But given his salary and lack of a concrete role in a 3-5-2, I think it's going to be one of those players that will make sense to sell. His salary costs something like 10m annually, putting him in the top 5 of (gross) earners iirc, ahead of Vidal.

sure, I dunno jack about Inzaghi's play sttyle so fine. I'd like to keep Skriniar just because I think he really embodies inter, andd presumably we wont be playing 3 at the back for ever.

For me, Perisic is far too expensive for what he offers, and even at 10-15m, would offer plusvalenza for us.

As Brehme says, only Eriksen Lukaku and Sanchez make more than Perisic (gross) at this club, and thats just way out of whck. Plus, he's on the wrong side of 30, and its a role we will need to rejuvenate in the next season or two anyway.

His agent said it's normal to hear rumours about Hakimi as he's the best in his position but he denied he has talked with any club about Hakimi. He also thanked Inter fans for the messages to Hakimi.

It seems like it is AGAIN (not the first time) Italian media cannot distinguish between "offer" and "done deal". They can offer 1$ for Hakimi, but it doesn't mean shit.
