No growth decree for him? Did you have to leave for less than a year like Lukaku?

so I THINK lukaku was a special case becuase he didnt have a non-resident tax year. If we wanted to bring Hakimi back under growth decree, it'd have to be after the 1st of July 2023 I guess so he has two full tax years non resident in Italy?

Hakimi is a player with certain strengths and certain weaknesses. He's a defensive liability in a back 4, he isn't a creator, he isn't a great dribbler or a great crosser. Instead he's super fast and he can exploit open spaces behind the back of the defenders. If you ask him to do things he can't of course he will look terrible. In the right system he looks like one of the best wingbacks in Europe.

Also people were complaining about the price but selling Hakimi for 66m looks pretty good right now from a financial perspective.

He worked very well in Serie A with his attributes and the team set up around him, especially in his link up with Lukaku - though somehow never really hit his stride with Barella which surprised me because I thought they'd be savage together as a pair.

He's not really the sort of defender PSG needs given their attacking talent, esp at the top levels of europe

Barella+Hakimi is the way to go, Hakimi isn't perfect but he is absolutely better than Dumfries

I actually remember many people around here who were pretty harsh on him that year, especially the first 3-4 months. Those 80m were clearly overpriced, and even then he is much better than what we have.
