I think he works best once we're already leading and we have plenty of space to take advantage of. I'm all up for giving him some more chances as starter, but I'm afraid that isn't gonna work as good as while he comes in from the bench. His game is quite frustrating once you're chasing the result. Arnautovic tends to play quicker and simplier in usual, as much as he sucks at times, he still tries his best to keep momentum and is less selfish.

I was going to say something similar to this. It looks to suit him most when he comes on later in the game, the opponent is behind and pushing forward with the ball, and there is some space between their defence and midfield lines for him to pick a pass to a player pushing into space behind the defence.

Yeah I'll keep him as the 5th forward if he's ok with the role. I don't trust Taremi and Arna as the back up forwards for the next season, so a 5th one would be needed imo.

The trouble is if we have 5 30+ forwards then where does Carboni fit in? In theory I'm okay with Lautaro+Thuram+Taremi+Alexis+Carboni IF Inzaghi sticks with the B squad through the entire Coppa Italia campaign (i.e., not drafting in Lautaro/Thuram when we begin to face stronger teams in semifinals). Otherwise that's too many strikers and we'll get another caged lion post.

In this suggested scenario Carboni would obviously stay on loan, maybe at Monza still or then somewhere else where he'd be guaranteed to get minutes (like at Monza atm).
