Unbelievable.. Than he earns about 2.2m or something. Simply unbelievale, based on what did we extend his contract last year? Just few months after the extension we loaned him to Sampdoria.

this is a brief and not complete list of players who would perform better than our former captain as CB: every kid in our primavera, including the forwards; any kid you could randomly pick from the streets; me, in spite of my shape worse than that of a retired smoker man; my dog, who is 15 and has cataract in both eyes; a tree (at least the opponent should do the effort of going around it); ranocchia himself, sleeping but somehow standing (see "tree"); my 3 years old nephew (he would at least be more intimidating).

For real. In the last game I swear there are about 3-4 occasions where I could end up clear the ball/posision well/ score a damn tap in that he fucked up. I'm not saying I should play at Inter, or even my local team, or even some street teams but, there are basics that a profrssional defender like Ranocchia shouldnt fuck it up in like every damn game, or even every two games. At this point I dont give a damn whether we really ruined him, or he ruined himself, or its just not meant to be, I just want him out.

There was agreement between Inter and Ranocchia for a contract extension in the summer of 2014. We just had postponed the announcement till June of 2015.
If i recall correctly, there were many reports linking him with Juve. It seemed Conte liked him and he wanted him in Turin. I think that was one of the reasons that made us offer him an extension. Another reason was that Mazzarri liked him and he wanted Frog to stay.
The worst thing about that extension is that he had threatened our management he wouldn't sign the extension unless we gave him the captaincy. He got what he wanted and now we're stuck with him until 2019. Another great move from our directors.

no, captaincy was simply something our management offered (beside the huge increase in wage of course) to him to convince him not to leave as a free agent.

I was under the impression he had asked for captaincy to sign the new contract. I thought i had read it somewhere. I am probably wrong. My bad then.

Edit: It took me a bit time but i found it. According to a report from Di Marzio in June of 2014, Juventus were offering more to Rano than Inter. So he asked for the captain's armband as well to accept our lower offer instead of Juve's. Ieven found reports saying that our directors almost forced Mazzarri to give him the captaincy. Here's GDM report as i found it on SempreInter:

Sky: Inter ahead for Ranocchia but offer less than Juventus

Gianluca Di Marzio of “Sky” has given some insight on the Ranocchia-Inter contract saga. The journalist outlined that Antonio Conte is pressing to have the player at Juve next season. However, the player seems to be keen on remaining at Inter next season, despite Inter offering him less money. His terms are that he receives consideration from the club related to the captain’s armband for next season, which he would appreciate.

I don't really buy it tbh. We forced Zanetti into retirement because of Ranocchia? If this is true, we need to kick out Thohir asap.

We all know mazarri forced him into retirement by refusing to play him so JZ refused to continue to be ignored like that and stopped playing. Rano had sweet fuck all to do with that

What are you talking about? The report didnt mention Zanetti. Zanetti decided to retire long time before the season ended.

Also, it's funny that at the same mercato Conte wanted Ranocchia, he got replaced by Allergi who most probably wouldn't like Ranocchia (no one likes him except Conte) and Juve would've been stuck with him. Fuck man, the amount of deals we should and shouldnt done in the past few years is incredible.

It wasn't a coincidence Javier Zanetti retired while Esteban Cambiasso, Diego Milito and Walter Samuel left the club at the same time. The fantastic 4 were forced their way to leave the team. I remember Ranocchia had the captain armband for few matches before JZ retired. I even put it as a signature here in FIF saying Inter Captain: 4+19=23.

It was clear to me, at least, that all 4 of them were offered to leave the club, Javier Zanetti decided to retire. He had the injury and he was going strong about making a comeback yet he retired that season.

I also don't buy JZ retired because Mazzarri didn't play him. He ain't Totti who bitches about not playing.

They retired because they were old and over the hill. The fact that the management couldn't replace them doesn't mean they should have stayed, it means Inter are run by a bunch of incompetent idiots.

The biggest problem with Zanetti was post 2010 we insisted on playing him in front of the defense, when clearly he wasn't capable of playing in the midfield anymore.

Believe I've read an interview that he preferred the midfield, around 2011-2012. I thought he played just fine in midfield until his injury.

His influence clearly dominished massively the last few years. It was a good time to retire, any more and hed have been eating bench and no one wants to end their career like that.
