Speed is something you can't upgrade...Ranocchia is slow NOW will ALWAYS be slow no matter what .In big world class games you need fast CB's.

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned about his speed. Someone like Samuel isn't that fast either, but still clearly faster than Ranocchia. Rano is just so clumsy because he's so tall.

Was beaten thoroughly by a simple turn & shoot move for the 5th goal and that had nothing to do with his speed. He wasa rubbish against Milan & last night against Schalke to. Rano needs to step the fuck up as the season is drawing to a close.

I missed the first half, and didn't bother watching the highlights.

But for this goal, no one seem to have even noticed Robinho's run let alone tracking it. I would have expected Cambiasso to mark Robinho at first, then Maicon later on when he runs closer to the box. But no, they just walked around like pedestrians.

And Motta sitting on the defense line like a 5th cb is just :stress:.

Saying Ranocchia is not good enough for Inter makes me :yuck:

Slow, yes he is slow... And no, Samuel is NOT faster, Samuel is only more agile. Which is different than speed.

Ranocchia had bad, very bad game vs. Schalke. Lets say he was bad against Milan, which i dont think is the case. What do you expect when Chivu is headless chicken, Maicon doesnt track back, and the DMs arent defening enough and are leaving too much empty space?

No ONE can cover that much space. One good CB in the line up is not good enough, you need good partner to show what you can. And we saw Ranocchia when he was partnered with Lucio.

He wasn't good vs milan and was poor vs schalke but the defensive tactics are too blame a lot. He and the other defenders are being asked to cover way too much space.

We saw last season even nesta looked like a poor defender under leo at times. Does mean nesta is bad or leo's system is poor for defenders??

He is still a very talented defender and should be persisted with .

I think Rano is not ready to usurp Lucio's and Samuel's throne just yet. We've seen lots of talent from this guy but it doesn't seem to me that he has the experience, nor the domination to stamp his authority on the pitch ala those two. Still, it's foolish to say that Rano wasn't a good purchase. It's just unfortunate that Lucio was suspended and Samuel is injured so Rano had to, uncomfortably just 3 months after signing for us, step up and be the main central defender for Inter in our biggest league match in a decade and then, in a CL match right after the debacle.

If Ranno was playing under Mourinho like tactics, people would already been calling him Nesta.

I'm not saying he was decent or anything, he has sucked but for me a major part of his failure is tactics (75%) and the other is inexperience and lack of pace(25%).

Yes. He just was not ready to fill this large role just yet. Unfortunate, indeed. Hopefully this doesn't break him down mentally.

Ranocchia has saved our ass couple times, including that tackle on the line vs Bayern. It seems people tend to forget that he has been playing with his injury. He keeps postponing his surgery for this team because if he opted for surgery this team has no one to cover him. He is not at his best yet but he has some promising talents. His heading is quite a weapon too, he just needs more time to develop.

This probably sums it up ;)

He was only meant as a 3rd choice at best. Possibly 4th ( I would have thought Chivu as higher in previous weeks) and partnered with an absolute fuck up player who doesn't have a position. Combined with 0 help from midfield letting them attack through the middle, down the flanks crosses, every way possible. He had a very poor game only mildly better than Chivu.

It's obvious when the team is playing bad one of it's youngsters isn't going to be likely to take the weight on his shoulders and drag us out, that's what experience is for ( somebody tell the rest of the team ) and as we've seen before he should look alot better next to one of our starting CB's.

As he matures he should be able to learn how to play in a way to reduce the amount of times he has to have a foot race.

All things considered 4 months at a new club not expecting to be playing every game with constant chopping and changing of CB's with a piss poor midfield ahead of him he's definately not one to write off. We saw glimpses of a qualiy CB at stages of the season. Next year, Samuel depending, we should see our little tadpole become a solid Frog in our defence and a good way to start a new Inter!
