Before the derby, in the subway, I heard a voice" Strama, ... Well well well well ... ". was Cassano, who over the years to Rome I had never met him in person. "I live in the same building and Wes Sneijder told me that you're a phenomenon. Keep it up," added Anthonio. I was pleased. "

Stramaccioni targets Scudetto bid

Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni says he must try and mastermind a serious Scudetto challenge in 2012-13.

The Nerazzurri have had a season to forget after finishing the campaign in sixth, but Stramaccioni, hired in March, already knows what is expected of him next term.

“If you are called Inter then you have to aim for the Scudetto,” the 36-year-old stated in an interview with the Corriere dello Sport.

“There was more than a 20 point gap between us and Juventus, but I train players who are used to fighting for victory and competing for the big objectives. We have players who know how to win.

“Transfers? We need to make a few changes that will allow us to rebuild. The new foundation will start with a clear idea which we have in our minds.

“This summer transfer window will be fundamental in terms of buying and selling because, as the President says, this will be year zero.”

The tactician added that he’s a fan of Napoli’s Ezequiel Lavezzi and Brazilian youngster Lucas, the talented Sao Paulo midfielder.

Stramaccioni is one of a number of young Coaches in the European game after being promoted from the Primavera set-up, but he doesn’t have the playing past of Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte or Luis Enrique.

“I haven’t had a career as a footballer, I wasn’t in great changing rooms and I haven’t played games at a certain level,” he noted.

“But at the same time I have a small advantage in that I was already a Coach at the age of 23.

“I was a decent player too and I even appeared for the Under-15 national side alongside Francesco Totti, Alessandro Nesta and Marco Di Vaio.

“But I got seriously injured at the age of 15 and, after three operations, I couldn’t do it anymore.”

Stramaccioni, who added that 4-3-3 is the “best formation” to cover the field of play, also revealed contact with Real Madrid tactician Jose Mourinho.

“Mourinho has given me more than one piece of advice,” he explained. “I never told the players this though.

“He contacted me, I think because he loves Inter. I listened to his words and I thanked him. I’ve never met him face to face, but it is a pleasure just to be able to speak with one of the world’s top Coaches.”

Strama imitating cassano :D

---------- Post added at 16:18 ---------- Previous post was at 16:02 ----------

translation from youtube comment;

Derby, San Siro underpass: I greet everyone. Afar off, I hear: "Strama! Strama!". I turn, Cassano: "Strama, going well!". I said: "Anto', yeah, quite well!" Cassano: "No, no, very well!" Me: "Well, it's a hard situation". Cassano: "But what the fuck do you care! Very, very well! Look, in football if you do well, players immediately speak. I live two floors above Wes and he said: 'This is a phenomena!'". Me: "Maybe Wes has overdone". Cassano: "Oh! Wes doesn't even listen to his parents!"

 hilarious!! Cassano is such a devious! :D

To tell you the truth, Im feeling for Cassano, such a dedicated Interista who`s his dream is to play for Inter, he tried to literly ass kissing almost every coach we`ve got so he would inquire for the player.

Regardless of his so called troubled behavior, which Im sure he already got ride of, I really believe a super talanted player as Cassano would be a better asset to our attack more than he would ever been. Since playing for Inter is such a dream fr him, I dont think IF he got his chance he`d fuck it up, He`ll give his best.

We would see the best of Cassano when he wears the kit he dreams to wear. That will remain my dream as well.

Strama: 'My new Inter era'

Andrea Stramaccioni reveals what it was like to be promoted from the youth team at Inter, where President Massimo Moratti wants to “begin a new era with me.”

He had won the NextGen Series – the Champions League for youth teams – just 48 hours before replacing Claudio Ranieri and has now been confirmed for next season.

The Nerazzurri also have their first reinforcement, as today Genoa announced an agreement for Rodrigo Palacio.

“The club won me over straight away because they wanted to begin a new era with me. The President had seen many of our games in the NextGen Series and not just the Final.

“They made me sign a parachute contract and I was very relaxed if this experience were to go wrong,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Stramaccioni has been compared to Jose Mourinho and Andre Villas Boas, as his playing career was cut short by injury.

“I would’ve liked to be a professional player, as that was my dream, but I never saw football as a career. It was my passion and at the same time I studied to get my degree.

“Since I was a kid I always tried to ‘steal’ secrets by studying the Roma youth team Coaches. Then they called me to the FIGC and Arrigo Sacchi said wonderful things when watching my teams. Sacchi was an icon for me.”

The high point of his senior Inter career so far was winning the derby 4-2, a result that ended Milan’s Scudetto hopes.

“An organised defensive move starts from the strikers and Wesley Sneijder was crucial for me in the derby.

“I always say either we push up to go get them or we stay really deep, so Wes can decide perfectly which is the best approach at any time. He did both phases very well in the derby and the team followed him.

“When there are corners in our favour, I bring out a player who can go closer to the flag, so I can draw one of the opposition out of the penalty area too.”

Douglas Maicon’s screamer was also decisive in that game and Stramaccioni reveals it was no coincidence.

“I’m happy to talk about that goal, as it is the most satisfying thing for a Coach. We practiced it to death in training and Maic always hit the bar, but he said: ‘Don’t worry, the goal is bigger at San Siro...’”

Stramaccioni: Coutinho has talent

Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni says that Philippe Coutinho has nothing to prove during their tour of Indonesia.

The Brazilian has been included in their end of season trip despite spending the last six months of the campaign on loan at Espanyol.

The 19-year-old impressed in Spain, but he now has the chance to catch the eye of Stramaccioni for the first time ahead of 2012-13.

“He’s not on this tour so we can look at what he can do because we have no doubts about his ability,” the former Primavera boss noted.

“Inter are working very hard to achieve success both now and going forward. Inter need to be at the top end of the table.

“We're now playing European football – albeit not the Champions League – and we're striving to get back to the top.

“Problems are there to be resolved and we are very clear on how to do that, President Moratti knows what is necessary.”

Genoa confirmed on Tuesday that a deal for Rodrigo Palacio had been done with the Beneamata.

“Inter have very clear transfer targets and we're working well, but I can't comment on any new additions because I've not had anything confirmed,” the Coach added.

Inter have two games lined up in Indonesia and Stramaccioni was delighted with the passionate reception the team received from fans in Jakarta.

“It was such a nice feeling to see so many Inter fans at the airport when we arrived. Endless supporters, there were thousands of them. Thank you Indonesia, on behalf of everyone at Inter.

“All of us, including our President who's not here, care a lot about this tour and Mr Moratti sends his regards.

“This is a country where Inter really is adored and just look at how many fans are here to cheer us. That's why we're all here, except of course those who are injured or on international duty.”
