Yeah you're probably right. We should have moved Palacio this summer while the overall feeling was still positive. I have a feeling people will be pretty annoyed with him by the end of they year if he actually gets any decent playing time.

This move will probably be good for 2-3 years tops. We need to make sure we make CL during that time and start looking for a long term replacement at RW as early as next summer.

This is a stopgap signing and better than nothing, because our management can't clearly get anyone else and it seems they aren't even looking. Candreva does not make us a favourite for CL spot but increases our chances.

Depending on movements form our direct rivals, I think Candreva + Banega makes us favourite for second. Plus players like Perisic and Kdog will only get better this year. Both took some time to settle.

The price is inflated because Lazio see us as a direct rival for European places. I don't really see the alternatives. He's a decent player bought for a mid-range price tag. It's a transfer that shouldn't inspire strong reactions in either direction imo... meh.

I seriously have no idea where you got the '29 resonates to 33'. I did not write the number 33 anywhere in my post. I've said a 'near-30' which is mathematically a valid and correct reality. He's currently 29 years old and therefore nearing 30 years old, and will be 30 by next February. What are you on about?

About quality yes I don't think that his quality is worth 25m euros at his age and it's one of Lotito's cheap scams. He can score 50 goals for Lazio and make 73 assists for all I care. Playing in Inter (Mancini's broken system) is different and it doesn't automatically mean that he'll repeat the same stats. Eder is a pretty good example. I don't think that Candreva is so good that we have to get him at that cost and not look at other options. He won't improve Mancini's gameplay. It's pointless.

That's my opinion on him and you should live with it.

Because you said a near 30 player, in his prime should be picked up for free, its insane. Around 33 is when you would get a player for expired contract usually.

So by your theory, whats the point of signing any player to play in 'Mancinis broken tactics'. How can you say any youngster would fair better? Youngsters who take more coaching and guidance anyway than a player that has played in World cups and under many 'broken systems' at lazio.

And how will he nit2? Did Perisic not improve his gameplan? A really significant boost on the left, Candreva will offer similar attributes what Perisic has done.

As well as this, its very obvious we've explored other oppurtunities.

I respect your opinion certainly, although this forum in general has a fetish for young players and I think almost everyone here is writing Candreva off because he's 29. If you dont see Candreva as a big quality boost to our right wing which was pretty much non existent last season i have to wonder...
